We had a very enjoyable experience learning to cook with Made and his family. He and his wife were very kind and eager to teach all of us how to make some very delicious Balinese foods. He was very encouraging to the kids (ages 12 and 10) and gave them lots of freedom to prepare and cook the foods. Everything tasted amazing and he gave us all the recipes so that we can cook the meal ourselves when we return to Canada. This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Bali!

Me and my best friend joined Bali Manggang cooking class on our second day morning in Bali. The hosts are very nice and friendly to us. They are also very patience and details while teaching us. We learned quite a number of dishes from them and all the dishes taste very good. I definitely enjoy this cooking class and looking forward to bring more family members and friends to join next time when I visit Bali.

This cooking class was excellent. Made took us to a local market and showed us a variety of Bali fruits and vegetables. We stopped at a very nice coffee plantation before heading to Made's home for the cooking class. All dishes were delicious, we feel like we can make this at home now. Made told us about all the substitutions we could make on our own and provided us with a recipe book as well. Highly recommended!

We went to the Bali Manggang cooking class and had a really good time, good and frest food. Our teacher was really nice and it was probably the best food we had in bali so far, would definitely recommend it! We liked the banana dumplings the most. You get a list with the recepies after! We decided to do the class really spontaneously, so we were so glad everything worked out. We also were able to cook a completely vegan menu!

We really enjoyed our cooking class with Made.
The day started with a trip to a local market which was really interesting. Before making our way to Mades house which has stunning views over the jungle.
We learnt to make some tasty dishes and benefitted from a small group of us which meant we all got to get involved.
The day ran really smoothly and I would recommend this to others. My friend has done a few other cooking classes before and said this is the best she has done.
Thank you Made.

We were friendly welcomed by a local man. He brought us first to the coffee and Thea plantage. Afterwards we went to the man’s house to cook traditional Balinese food. We had three courses and they all tasted very good! We got the recipe to practice at home. Also they made pictures during the cooking class. Overall, I would say you should definitely do it! Great experience:)

I loved the cooking class! It was just the 2 of us, so very personal. We got a full explenation, help and at the end we got to eat our own meal and got to take the recipe home with us.
Thank you for everything and I will come back if I'm visiting Bali again 😊

What a great experience. After a quick email and Made’s quick response we were picked up at our hotel for our cooking class tour. Visited a coffee plantation and then to Made’s home for our class. So special to see their home and learn about their culture. Everything was perfect. Made and Dewa are a great team and had us cooking like pros in no time. We cooked about 8 or 9 dishes and then enjoyed the gorgeous view while devouring the food we cooked from their dining area. Simply delicious. Thank you so much Dewa and Made for sharing your home and recipes with us. We highly recommend this tour.

It’s probably best to do it with at least one other person as you make a lot of dishes and a lot of it will go to waste. You can take some with you I suppose.
It certainly doesn’t need a group. We did it as a couple.

Hi there. My friend and I would like to do one of your cooking classes. We are staying Ubud at the moment and leave on Thursday. How much would this cost and what days do you have available. Thanks heaps. Robyn
