- Sharon A8 contributionsFamily oriented cookingMore intimate cooking than a large cooking school. Great to see a local family compound and cook in a smaller environment. Very well organized in terms of pre-cut dishes, and many delicious foods. Dishes are very tasty. Very friendly family. Highly recommend. However be cautious and ask if you will be visiting the market or plantation if you are going in the afternoon. Also recommend to contact them directly to book as the agencies take a big cut and you might get a discount from them directly.Visited January 2020Travelled with friendsWritten 14 January 2020
- Liana HIndonesia1 contributionMore than just a cooking classGreat experience, even when it's raining! Got picked up in the morning for the early class at the hotel and went to the market in Ubud. Having a guide (also the chef) there was really helpful because it can be quite overwhelming. The next stop was at a small coffee plantation where we learned about Balinese Coffee and had a coffee and tea tasting with all their flavours (all vegan/plant-based soymilk as cow milk is hard to come by in that area+expensive). You also have the chance to try the famous cat poo coffee (luwak coffee) for 50000 rupiah. I definitely would not miss out on that! It is really special! There is also a small shop where you can buy all the teas and coffees, which are also great souvenirs to bring home! After that we drove to the home of our chef, which is a very beautiful, traditional Balinese house where he also explained the architecture, which is very special! And then, finally, the cooking class started! We cooked many different traditional Balinese dishes and also one dessert, which were all SCRUMPTIOUS!!! Also, out of 4 people I was the only vegan person so we cooked two versions of each dish. The vegan versions did not lack in taste at all, the chef really knows how to prepare tasty, satisfying plant-based cuisine, I was really blown away!!!Visited June 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 June 2022
- Companion095008220063 contributionsLots of fun learning to cook in Bali!We had a very enjoyable experience learning to cook with Made and his family. He and his wife were very kind and eager to teach all of us how to make some very delicious Balinese foods. He was very encouraging to the kids (ages 12 and 10) and gave them lots of freedom to prepare and cook the foods. Everything tasted amazing and he gave us all the recipes so that we can cook the meal ourselves when we return to Canada. This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Bali!Visited May 2022Travelled with familyWritten 12 May 2022

First, they took us to a local market to show us where ingredients are bought by locals. Then we stopped at a coffee planatation before heading to the kitchen to begin the class. They gave us a printout of all the recipes we cooked at the end. We left with full bellies! 😋

My mother and I came to this cooking class because of the reviews and it was fabulous. We were collected from the hotel, taken to the market then taken to a very organised kitchen. We learnt all about the flavours and ingredients and then cooked an amazing meal with six other people from around the world. Highly recommended

All in all this cooking class was an amazing experience. The people who run it were so lovely and made the experience so enjoyable. The food was gorgeous, with a wide variety of food to make and then taste. So worth the money and I would love to do it again. Highly recommend!

It’s probably best to do it with at least one other person as you make a lot of dishes and a lot of it will go to waste. You can take some with you I suppose.
It certainly doesn’t need a group. We did it as a couple.

Hi there. My friend and I would like to do one of your cooking classes. We are staying Ubud at the moment and leave on Thursday. How much would this cost and what days do you have available. Thanks heaps. Robyn
