    Great cooking class!
We had a great time at this cooking class! With a the different cooking classes available, we're happy that we went with this one. The instructions were simple and the food was delicious! The class was also very hands on and we got to chop, fry, make banana Wraps etc. At the end we all ate the food and it was all amazing and filling. Would highly reccomend this activity!

Great cooking class with wonderful instructors!
Great experience and value for money. You get to go to the local food markets in the morning which was interesting and tried a few different fruits and baked goods. Then into the families home where you learn to cook Balinese dishes from scratch. They discuss ingredients and substitutes for at home if you can’t get certain ingredients then you get involved in the cooking! You make a large variety of the popular dishes and then get to feast on the at the end!! Everything was simple to make and absolutely delicious!! Such lovely hosts with plenty of room for everyone in the small group!

    Amazing Balinese cooking class
This was a truly unforgettable experience. My husband and I are on our honeymoon in Bali and our driver arranged for a day of exploring for us. This was the last stop of the day and it did not disappoint. It was just the two of us there at the time. We were able to learn more about the culture and way of life. The food we prepared was more than enough to satisfy our hunger and we learned many things to take back home with us. If your looking for a more authentic less touristy cooking class we couldn’t recommend this more!

Great family run cooking class, lovely people & delicious food made easy!
Great class in a Balinese family's home. Everything was extremely well organized, well explained and delicious. It was really hands on & we were given tips throughout, including substitutions we can make depending on what ingredients we can't find in our own countries. I appreciated the attention to hygiene - we were continually washing our hands. The view was amazing & a nice breeze kept the kitchen from getting too hot. The chefs/instructors were friendly and made the afternoon a lot of fun. Highly recommended!

    Cooking Class
Enjoyable morning spent learning the tricks of Balinese cooking. Our teacher was a lovely lady who spoke very good English and provided us with a print out of the recipes. The class was not rushed and we enjoyed eating what we had cooked. Clean Kitchen and hand washing throughout the class. Happy to have had this experience in Ubud.

    Great cooking class!
Based on our experiences with cooking classes all over SEA, I can highly recommend this one! Prepare yourself to learn 10 different delicious dishes. The staff is really friendly and very well English-speaking. You’ll also visit a coffee plantation - which is great for a good start into the morning. We were 3 attendees and all of us got a great amount of cooking with the boring basics like chopping garlic etc were done by the staff. Thank you for the great day today!

    Must try!!
As we arrived at the morning cooking class we were greeted with a tea and coffee for my partner! The whole Balinese cooking experience was something we were very new to as this was my first international trip, I was amazed with the flavours and how easily Dewi guided us to make multiple wonderful dishes! Upon finishing our delicious food we were given a recipe pack so we could go on and cook these dishes again in the future! Would highly recommend this cooking class, it was a wonderful experience !!

    Bali Manggang Balinese Cooking Class
What a fantastic experience this was. There were seven on the course and we all made a different dish. The open plan kitchen made it easy for everybody to watch, listen and learn. The day started with a visit to a traditional Bali market. Our tour guide showed us all of the fresh herbs and spices we would using. The staff were amazing. Very friendly and we had a laugh along the way. The course was run by a family so no politics etc. If you are in Ubud you have to give this a go. I will see if I can upload a video I took of our food before we jumped in and ate it all.

    Great Balinese Cooking Experience
I really enjoyed this cooking experience. When we arrived, all the chopping of the ingredients were already prepared and we were gently guided through the process of preparing 10 different Balinese dishes. At the end of the class, I got to enjoy the cooking with my new friends. This kitchen values hygiene and the environment in which you cook is clean and well-maintained. There's a wonderful view of the forest as well. Most of all - I really enjoyed Chef Dewi's calm and patient approach. Her English is great and she presented all the dishes clearly and with a sense of humour. Our driver, Joni also made our morning with an informative journey to the local market before the cooking. Overall a wonderful experience.

Absolutely fantastic morning spent with Made and his family. First we visited local markets then a coffee plantation which was surprisingly an excellent experience with a whole taster platter of drinks to try. Then a few hours of fun cooking at Mades house with beautiful jungle views. They were kind, friendly people and we loved every minute. We even purchased a mortar and pestle and very big knife off them to take home. Loved it!!!

Loved this cooking class with Dewi and Vega! The compound is their family generational home, so you get to see inside a traditional Balinese home. The seating area is up some steep stairs and overlooks the Ubud jungle. There is a nice cool breeze while you cook. The ingredients are so fresh, and it’s a nice, calm experience when cooking. We cooked with my 3yo son and he was able to hep cut vegetables, pound peanuts for the satay sauce, make fish balls for the soup and ofcourse cook the curries. All up we made 9 dishes and there was plenty left over. The food was delicious and my sons favourite was the banana dumplings! I loved the satay! They also arranged for a hotel transfer back and forth. Highly recommend.

Me and my boyfriend did the cooking class which turned out to be a private class (low season advantages!). I Made welcomed us in his home, with a private temple and a beautiful view over the forest, and together with his wife he taught us how to prepare delicious balinese dishes. We had a whole buffet to ourselves and everything was amazing. Cannot wait to go home and prepare these dishes for our families!

This has been the best thing I’ve done in Bali. More than just cooking; Made and his family welcomed us into their home after showing us around a local food market and a really interesting tour at a luwak coffee plantation. Batur suksma, Made!

The cooking class of Dewi was amazing! I highly enjoyed the morning class, with a visit to a local market and a coffee plantation. We were welcomed in their beautiful home where we made a lot of great dishes, tasted them and got the recipes. Would definitely recommend this class! 🤩

We went to the Bali Manggang cooking class and had a really good time, good and frest food. Our teacher was really nice and it was probably the best food we had in bali so far, would definitely recommend it! We liked the banana dumplings the most. You get a list with the recepies after! We decided to do the class really spontaneously, so we were so glad everything worked out. We also were able to cook a completely vegan menu!

Highly recommend!! Authentic family cooking, beautiful location, clean and delicious.

We booked through their website and called their whatsapp number (great english). Booked same day afternoon class and were picked up from our hotel. From there they asked if we wanted to stop in at Satria Agrowisata (2) coffee and tea tasting, which we did (highly recommend). Then after they drove us to the cooking class.

The cooking class is located at their family home/mountain village and has a large cooking kitchen at the rear overlooking the river and valley. The spices and some vegetables are all prepared earlier and they go through each element and help you put together the meals. We cooked 10 dishes in total, but the time flew bye. Each meal was explained and we washed our hands inbetween every part also. We sang and laughed and then prepared all the meals. At the end we took some photos together and sat down and ate while watching the sunset. Once finished we were given the recipes in a booklet and a cooking certificate!

Thank you so much to the lovely Dewi (mother of the house and top chef), Ketut CO (guide, driver, chef and comedian and singer if you're lucky) and Nyoman for finishing our cooking and cleaning up after us (son).

My wife and I had a real fun time ! Made , the cooking instructor, picked us up from our hotel and gave us a background of Balinese culture. Took us to his home where the class was held. It was cool to be able to cook at his home to get more of a cultural perspective. Also has one of the nicest views I've seen from his backyard. We cooked plenty of food from soup ,rice , noodles , curry , different sauces , satay & even dessert. There were plenty of stations and we all worked together. He also gave us a packet with ingredients and step by step to take home so we don't forget. Not only learning how to cook their food but also the culture was amazing and great experience !
