Such a well planned class—from the pick up to visiting the produce market to the step by step cooking class in a serene location facing rice field.
The entire thing was seamless as every detail wad thought ahead of time and final presentation of the food was superb.
What an experience to better understand the Balinese culture.

What great way to learn a bit about the local cuisine and culture. We started with a market tour learning about the local ingredients.
Then were driven to a Rice field to understand the importance of Rice as a food stable and how rice is grown and harvested.
A group of 11 people in the class each had our own workstation for the preparation. Then we shared cooking duties 6 at a time for each dish.
There were plenty of support staff to assist if needed and then clean up after us.
When everything was cooked, we sat down to enjoy a delicious feast of local Bali cuisine. Highly recommend this cooking class.

My sister and I did this on 21st Feb and had a wonderful experience. Our driver/market guide was lovely and all staff at the class were also so helpful and friendly. The location was open air type and beautifully set among the fields. We prepared some beautiful dishes and best part was eating this feast. It was great value and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bali that has a love of food.

Husband and I had a really fun time with these folks. We had a few days without anything planned in Ubud so decided to pick a local cooking class and this one didn't disappoint. We did the 8am pick up time so got to visit the market and learn about new foods we've never seen before. Very friendly staff drove us back to the cooking area after a bit and we had a refreshing drink while they got ready for us. We started with some discussion and hygiene and then started at our work stations. They were able to accommodate for vegetarians and a couple of us that are gluten free, as well. This was definitely a hands on experience but not anything to complicated. We were guided through each step with a few laughs in between. It was neat to get to know the other couples involved and ask questions about the local cuisine and traditions. Best part of all was the sampling in between steps and then getting to dive into the meal at the end. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone with a free morning or afternoon. Very authentic and easy enough for anyone.

These guys are very friendly and have a good command of English. The place is amazingly quiet and peaceful, it has a nice spirit. The recepies are easy to understand, yet very tasty. Come with an empty stomach and open heart :)

I had a wonderful day out on this class with my mum and sister. Pick up from the hotel was about 30 min late but that's Bali time! The class takes place in an outdoor kitchen next to rice paddies. We had about 10 people in the class -it is very hands on, instructions are very clear and staff provide helpful hints on substitute ingredients for cooking back home. The menu was tasty and there was a wide variety of dishes- the pandan coconut pancakes were a standout and will be sure to impress back home. You get a recipe book to take home too.

Impromptu visit to Ubud with a friend was only made better with an authentic balinese cooking experience with Canting cooking class! We booked this through our villa one day in advance and it was all run incredibly smoothly. We were picked up from our villa and taken to the Ubud market with three other couples where we were shown some of the local produce and also given time to wander around and make purchases if we wished. We then made our way to the beautiful outdoor kitchen surround by rice fields where we were greeted with a welcome drink and first taught to make an offering. After this we got into cooking, everyone was given different jobs and each ingredient and it’s role was explained. We made so many beautiful dishes including curries, satay, steamed fish in banana leaf and pandan pancakes and had such a fun time doing so. We then all sat down together to enjoy a beautiful lunch together. Could not recommend highly enough. Taking home the recipes was the icing on the cake!

Canting Bali Cooking Class have organised these cooking class to ensure that the whole group (there were 11 of us) had the same experience of preparing, cooking and tasting the tasty dishes of Bali.
The teacher was obviously a chef himself and shared his knowledge and expertise willingly and in a way we could all understand.
I would recommend this class to everyone.

Canting cooking classes catered for us, Two families of four, with children aged 7-11 absolutely beautifully. We were able to learn about the origins of the food we were cooking at a local market beforehand and then learn real techniques that everyone was able to participate in before eating our amazing dishes.
The staff and the service here was incredible and it ran like a very well oiled
Machine.
They were incredibly accommodating to us with a couple of our children who weren’t feeling 100% as well.
Would definitely recommend this experience if you are keen to learn how to cook traditionally back home.

Were there many people attending the class?
Did you get to have a go at cooking all the dishes or was the class divided into groups and given separate tasks?
Many thanks!

In our group we had 11 people and the group next to us was about the same. We did separate some tasks like cutting ingredients. Half would stir fry while the other would put the ingredients in the pan. I felt very involved. They had a lot of workers behind the scenes moving the food and dishes while we were working at the next station. We made so many dishes I got a little confused but walked away with a recipe book! Even though it was a large group it was a great success. The group size was no problem at all. I’ve done smaller, private classes, but the bigger one allowed for more food and variety?

How could I join the class again?
Today, I have wasted afternoon with my family. After talking with Canting receptionist, my family and me were waiting on time at the pickup point. Because the car did not come there I call him. He asked me change the place. So I moved the place with my children. I could understand it as the road was in traffic jam under the rain. And then at the changed place I had waiting for 2HOUR! Not any call. I did not want to call him because I always had to call for the arrangement. My family had to leave the place in tired condition. Maybe I could join your best cooking class next time. At this beautiful Ubud in Bali. Jeong
