This museum is quite large and has a good range of collections. But It is run down, dark and very hot. Air conditioning would help , and all signage is in Indonesian, basically unless you can read Indonesian it is not worth visiting. Exhibits are not dated, and I found myself wondering at what I was looking at far too... More

It is so sad to see what happens to a museum nobody bothers to keep in shape. I can understand that there are funding needs but the entrance fee should help to at least hire one or two people who clean the floor and wipe the dust. People who are employed there are not willing to do any efforts the... More

An enchanting little museum with huge collection of old and new. I love most of the collection from old cassettes & vinyl records, featuring the oldies like Chica Koeswoyo, Koes Plus, etc. Some unique artifacts such as baby elephant'ss skulls as well as musical instruments, traditional costumes, etc. Their highlighted display were the gold jewelries and other beautiful artifacts. Unfortunately... More

I got a very nice guide, too bad I don't get his name, who provided me with valuable information about the artifacts showcased at the museum. I tried to tip him at the end of the tour and yet he refused. He said he only wish that I could get more people to visit the museum. I give this museum... More

If you are looking for general idea of how the cultural development in Central Java area, it is a good place to start. And that's about it, with nothing more you could explore from this museum. Lack of interpretation (signage, label, artefact description, etc) was readily felt upon entering the museum. Can't say that I will recommend it to my... More

This is sadly just another stupid story about Indonesian museums. As an Indonesian I'm literally cannot express my disappointment about our museums on our own cultures that are so rich and complex not even the European actually could compete with us. The Ronggowarsito museum has a prominent location and huge area. But the rooms are poorly lit, clearly nobody involved... More

I really liked this place because of the many cultural and historical items that are displayed here. The building is a bit worn down, but the collection is well worth the visit. There are parts about natural history, the colonial era and traditional javanese culture

The museum is quite large and has a very diverse display -- definitely worth a visit. There were a lot of empty spaces so don't know if exhibits were moved or done away with. Found it very interesting.

It was looks usual building, with lot of statue and paintings inside. With a horse cart statue in front of it their landscape looks full of ornament. Beside museum, there is some function hall where can be use for wedding ceremony. In a past we've ever rent 1 big room, in the back part of this museum. We re rent... More
