Visited here on a tour through western Sumatra, and was lucky enough to have clear views on both the evening of arrival and the morning of departure. Tea plantations around the area give some great photo opportunities around the base of a classic cone volcano.

As the highest mount in Sumatera, Mount Kerinci has its own story and mystery. One of the mystery is the existence of mysterious tribe of Uhang Pandak or Orang Pendek (the Short People)

Hi, how did you organize your ride from Padang to Kersik Tuo? Did you have request a car/van beforehand or was it easy to find someone to take you? Thank you!

Its a day's drive from padang and recommended to prearrange transport. Try searching for kerinci guides online, there are a few notable ones who will be able to assist (they do guiding for the lake as well). Hope this helps.
