Interesting authentic village. Paid 25.000 pp, but we got introduced (unsolicited) to a 91 year-old, very friendly Dutch speaking inhabitant who showed us around... turned out that we had to pay him another 150.000.. what a disappointment. Made the whole experience feel fake 😩.

We intentionally visit after the rain to see different ambiance seen on many pictures. It is a neighbourhood highly recommended to visit. Sitting and chatting with the people, taking pictures -please ask first before taking people's picture- and sipping their coffee amongst them. It is...More

We went as family of 4, with a 13 yo and 6 yo. All of us had to take a moment and absorb the view of the village. It looked like a scene or an area in a park but this one is real since...More

I give a 5 star review because we experienced something very impressive. The villagers had a ritual to induct a newly built house. We were both lucky and unlucky at the same time to experience the cruel slaughtering of a buffalo and 41 pigs. Well,...More

It's worth the journey. Bena is quite a large traditional village in Flores. Our visit was interesting and informative. Ask your the guide about traditions when locals are building a new house and take an amazing picture of the houses with volcano in background!

Nice to visit but more interesting for the houses and inplanting then the inhabitants. Very touristic, people who live here are also focused on selling things rather then in their daily life. Note that you have to pay an entrance fee of 25K per person..

Easy to go around and is very welcoming. It is a must see. 25000 rupiah entrance and you get a scarf to wear during your time there

I wanted to give this 5 stars but ended up with 4 stars. The positive thing about this village is how it was so beautifully preserved for people like me who wants to appreciate culture. I was greeted with a linen cloth placed around my...More

We got some great pictures at the top of the village where the view is amazing overlooking the surrounding mountains. Like the other traditional villages nearby, the villagers are industrious and use their skills to create some cool artefacts for sale. We bought some half...More
