One of the inclusions in our stay at Novotel, was a drive to Mawun beach. There is no accom in walking distance, so the beach is uncrowded and well serviced by a good shop and locals who offer fruit, coconuts, drinks and of course, sarongs. We had a lovely chat and then were left alone and moved from perfect clear... More

Its a nice beach, clean and quiet. There are many different level of blue, amazing color. Some kids came to us for signature and practice English. Some hawkers sale sarong, bracelet, pineapple juice, coconut... The local ppl go there for picnic under a big tree. Its a wonderful spot to have shade. Its nice just lie on the beach enjoy... More

Tips : 1. The beach is beautiful beach with white sands and gulf surrounded by hills. 2. Be careful if you sit on the beach lazy chair, some people will insist you to pay 10.000 IDR or more, but after I insist that these chairs are public facilities, they lowered their demand just for the sake of their children's food.... Good for a swim and lie on the beach lounges. Coconuts and basic food and beer available. Spoilt a little by some rubbish in the water and on the beach which the locals seem oblivious to. Would be so easy for a few people to clean up.

I first came to Mawun in 1999. There was nothing but a shack selling coke and fanta in bottles. It was filled with rubbish after thunderstorms as the currents brought rubbish from elsewhere. On fine days in the dry season, it was pristine. Tanjung Aan suffered the same after-storm effects. Now, it is an enterprise. I should not be surprised.... More

This is a beach about 20mins from Kute Lombok and is very worthwhile exploring in a car or motor bike. You will have to pay about 10000rp for parking (less than a $1) but it keeps the locals with some income, which isn't bad. Not really always a safe swimming beach (I hear there are undertows) but exquisite just to... More

I came to this beach in 2015 and had a great experience. This time around was complete opposite and it has changed a lot since then. The beaches and waters where you swim are full of trash and is very dirty. The beach isn't very busy and there are plenty of places to sit and a couple trees that give... More

I am a little surprised by the previous reviews saying this is a dirty beach...maybe there is a confusion about the name or maybe like someone said went after a bad tide. We had a lovely time and a lovely swim here. Would most certainly recommend going here.
