These bronze sculptures are scattered around town. We saw a couple along Main Street on the way to Carlsbad, but had to go back and see more on our way up to Roswell. The detail is incredible.

Knew nothing about these sculptures but they were wonderful! Great thought given to their arrangement, explanation and construction. We felt we got a good sense of Artesia and it's history through the art.

I was amazed to discover the series of street statues as we were driving through downtown Artesia, NM. The artwork provides a dynamic visual of the area's progress from historic cattle range to oil/gas industry. The statues are easy to find and pleasantly displayed.

Unexpected public fine art that captures the history and spirit of the town. Worth stopping in town just to stroll to each sculpture. Wow.

Mike Hamby also created at least one of the sculptures. They recently added a new bronze, The Foundation, which celebrates kids reading, in July. There are at least 8 different bronzes around the town center area, and some... More

Hi, I am sorry I do not know if they are by the same person, but they are certainly interesting and very educational as well.
