There were many shops along the main street and side lanes. The area was crowded with local people and tourists searching for their souvenirs and food. A lively area particularly at night time.

What is the nearest subway from Haeyang-ro to Gwangbok-or?

There seems to be no subway near Haeyang-ro. Maybe you could take a taxi to Nampo subway station. Gwangbok-ro is on the left of Exit 7.
