It was a great temple with museum facilities. I recommend anyone who come to busan to visit this place. It exhibits the richness of Bhuddist culture in busan

Well, it's been a few years since I last visited, and at that time, most of the gates were building sites. Refurbished to their original standard, the Beomosa doesn't disappoint. Perhaps the best thing is that it is easily accessible form Busan via the Metro. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the old Buddhas again and would recommend it to anyone as a half day excursion.

We were on a tour and our coach parked at the lower car park so we had to walk up to the temple up several flights of stairs, and through 3 main gates, but this seemed a very appropriate way to reach the main temple area, although some people seemed to drive up and park by a side entrance; I feel they missed out by not climbing the steps.

The main temple area had several smaller temples around it and these are worth seeking out as they were more peaceful away from the crowds in the main upper square

We took the metro to Beomeosa Metro station and exit number 5, and headed about 150m up the road Cheongnyongyejeon-ro road, to the bus stop. We took the number 90 bus (from memory about 1,400 WON each) and this takes you right to the entrance. Note - if you walk from the metro the hill is extremely steep all the way.
The temple itself is free to enter, and we arrived around 10am where we could hear and see monks doing their prayers with Buddhist people inside the temples. This was really beautiful to see and peaceful to watch. The architecture and paintings of the temples is very pretty, and you really get a feel that these temples still in use are some of the most genuine temples in South Korea.
Nearby is also Cheongryeon-Am temple (<5 min walk), and this is also free and worth a visit too if you head to Beomeosa.
Highly recommend including this in your Busan itinerary.

Located on the eastern edge of Mt. Geumjeongsan, Beomeosa Temple is a perfect place to seek tranquility and peace.

It takes a short but picturesque hike to reach the temple grounds.

The best time to visit Beomeosa is during the autumn months (just like us), to experience the beautiful foliage around the temple.

Nice scenery. I visited with a group in a freezing morning, but it is still worth it.
People in the area are nice. The golden buddhas give a Southeast Asian experience but they are unique on their own.

It stands true to its description as Urban Temple...The place is huge and so calm and serene. Though be ready to walk a lot! Not only this place is peaceful but also a great place to enjoy nature's beauty.

I visited this temple during the golden hour and it was such a precious moment! Even though it is so close to the city it provides a very serene atmosphere. It does get chilly since it is quite high up. So make sure to have a jacket with you if you visit it during the Fall. Beomeosa is one of the temples inscribed in the Templestay program! For those without a car you can also reach the temple with public transportation. However, be prepared to walk a little!

Almost surreal. Just stunning. Go early morning as this is when the temple is most active. Just be respectful as locals are praying. There are also many people hiking. Get off at the metro station Beomeosa and then take a taxi or bus 90. Alternatively hike up. We took a taxi from the station up which was cheap and bus 90 back down when we had finished. Ask someone as the bus doesn't stop directly by the metro station. The temple grounds and mountain views were just magical. Peaceful, mystical and as I said surreal. We walked around for just over an hour. Wear good shoes as there is uphill climbing. Some of the temple buildings are closed to tourists but most are open. There are some information boards with facts about the temple. These are helpful but basic. Suggest also taking a guide book or reading up about the temple before going.

The travel guide book I read describes Beomeosa as an “urban temple” so I was quite shocked to discover I would have to walk 3 km up a mountain from the metro station. Luckily the bus 90 will take you there. It is way worth the climb. The temple is beautiful and well maintained, set on a magnificent and green mountain. Very peaceful, one will forget the busy city just under
