This is a great little outing we learnt a lot about the turtles and it is lovely to see some positive rehabilitation and efforts to save these endangered species. Highly recommend.

the turtle hatchery is run by a warm and welcoming family. They were very knowledgeable and passionate when it came to their turtles, they handled them with care and love. A turtle slapped me in the face.

The refuge is very safe for the turtles, which are released to the sea on a regular basis. They evolve in a caring environment. The family is very welcoming and knowledgeable on turtles. A great experience, very close to Galle!

1000 lkr per person and you can also make a donation (we gave an extra 500 for 2 which seemed fair). The owner has a tuktuk and can help you with transport.

We have just returned and we're able to after 6pm. I think you need to ask and expect to pay per turtle that's release
