It was an old zoo requiring attention. At the moment the City government is working on a project to renovate it along with the Hsinchu Park and it is expected to be reopened sometime in June, 2018.

The zoo is in a run-down condition. I feel sorry for the animals in that place. The animals are being neglected.

I feel sorry for most animals in a zoo, but in this case particularly the two tigers, hippo and the orangutan. The zoo really is too small to accommodate these magnificent animals. Also some of the birds are in dirty cages with next to no...More

Nice place to spend a few hours to see some animals bird and plants from that region. Its not so big as a zoo in europe but they have enough to show too you. Also verry cheap cost almost nothing just a few twd.

It's a zoo which has a long history. There are lots of animals in Hsinchu municipal zoo, for example, tiger, Malaysian sun bear, sika deer, and crocodile. Incredibly, it only charges NT$20 as admission. It's a great place for kids and couples.

Lol. Yep, they had that, as well as a raccoon exhibit! But they did have more exotic animals, as well: gorrillas, bears, a hippo, and some other cool animals. It costs less than a dollar to visit and it is good for an hour or...More

This zoo is a small zoo. It's closed on Mondays but otherwise it's a nice little zoo. Not very big and you can get through it in about an hour. The kids really enjoy watching the animals. Not the most exciting zoo but it's a...More

Smaller sized zoo that you can see in an hour or two. I enjoyed the tigers and orangutan. The entry was cheap, under NT$100 (I can't recall the exact price). Good place to take the kids or girlfriend. Worth checking out.

There were a lot of people there so it is popular locally but I'm used to the newer zoos which try to create an open not overly apparent caged animal pen. I was there in Feb and it had a strong odor - may be...More
