When we get there, the village is most probably close half way! The whole village only take less then 15 mins to finish the whole journey. I won't recommend my Friend to go there.

Rainbow Village - what a name of fantasy! Once a rundown dwelling place of Taiwan veterans was turned into a painting fantasy land of Rainbow Grandpa. Strikingly colorful, apparently naive but deeply meaningful paintings overwhelmed every corner of this tiny dwelling place! When we walked through the lane of houses, we felt being absorbed into the surreal world of color... More

A small area made up of 2 to 3 small "huts" that are painted in eye catching colors and characters. Appreciate the creativity and tenacity of the very old painter who was there to sell some wares. Bought two fans at very reasonable pricing. Worth a visit if passing through. Otherwise, place is swarmed by tourists, evident from the many... More

We dropped by here because it came highly recommended by our driver who said that "if you do not come to this place, you have not been to Taichung". And we did not regret it and this was probably our favourite spot in Taichung. When we arrived there at around 10-ish, "ironman" was there to take selfies with the visitors.... More

The paintings on the walls are very colorful and inspiring. It shows the inner thoughts of the painter, Grandpa Rainbow. I think that he must be very open-minded and kind which may be the reason why he has longevity. All the paintings show his wishes to himself and all the visitors, such as making good fortune, happy marriage, healthy life,... More

The village is beautiful with painting all over the walls, good for taking pictures. Heard from other people it's a hideous bus ride from Taichung Train Station though. We personally got lost looking for the right bus stop and that took us more than 30 minutes. Got on bus 29 finally but turned out it would take 1h30' so we... More

It's just a spot good for a photo session. The drawings on the walls of the house itself is drawn by the Rainbow Ye Ye, but the paintings on the outside of the playground seems different from the original drawing styles of Rainbow Ye Ye. Visited at 4pm? Crowded with loud China tourist.

It is not uncommon to see paintings on wall. Nevertheless, this small village shows you the unique wall painting with strong Taiwan touch and feel. You won't see similar things in other countries. Transportation may be a problem. Not close to public transportation. Cab or drive would be more desirable

Many travellers' guide introduced this spot. I travelled once with friends in October and found the place quite interesting with many colourful portraits and writings, but seemingly only travellers who understand Chinese may have a better understanding of the meanings of the wall paintings. As a local handcraft, it's worth to take a look but there is little specialized souvenirs... More

Only few small house left, but we love the colourful painting here. You don't need to spend much time here. But must come to visit. Transport is not very convenient.
