So there weren't so many flowers. But looking at others' photos I think it's worth the visit if you come at the right time. The place is quite spacious

A good place to take pictures, with many kinds of flowers. It's a beautiful place for you to bland in with flowers.

Took the HSR from Taipei to Taichung then too a taxi to xinshe for the flower festival. It had started about 1 week earlier and I went on Saturday so traffic was really bad up the narrow windy hill to the small town where it is held. Didn't have many days in Taiwan and we'd booked ourselves on the other... More

We are lucky to be here in November. Just the season to see the Sea of Flowers. It is located about more than 1 hr from Taichung city. It took us to drive some time from Taichung to change to a public free shuttle bus but these are all worth it when you set your eyes to the colourful endless... More

I used to go there every year when there was a festival. But I didn't go there for 6 years as I went abroad to study. I am happy that II went to this festival again this year and had seen some improvement compared to 6+ years ago. For example, the trails are paved with grass, instead of bumpy, muddy,... More

Location: Kinda middle of nowhere, getting here would take some effort if you're not with an orchestrated tour. Traffic sucks leading up to the location on weekends. Midweek pre-noon is best time to go. Admission: Free, if you're driving there are fee lots along the way. Free but limited parking at the entrance. Exhibits: If you like wild flowers, "sea... More

I hired a driver to drive me there as it was quite inaccessible without private transport. Apparently, the flower season is typically 1mth in nov-Dec every year. It was very hot and sunny when I was there with barely any shelter except for tents with tenders selling food / fruits / local produce etc. It was also rather crowded, probably... More
