In April, many people are looking for a place to relax and enjoy water festival. This dam in Cha-am is one of those choices because vistors can swim, eat and stay near the dam. There are many restaurants and hotels around the lake. Even the weather is hot about 40 degree, its scenery is very attractive.

Great for photography but nothing much to do apart from boating. We drove around and had lunch at the river side which was nothing exceptional

Visited just before sunset, a charming and popular location to walk. We didn't t do the boat ride but it was no hassle saying no to the offers. Some beautiful photo opportunities.

Nothing special about Kaeng Krachan Damor the area unless you are a keen bird watcher, in which case it is a must. Not much in the way of decent food r accommodation and you will need your own transport.

I do like to visit dams and at first impressions this one is not one to say WoW in anyway but it has its own attractions, and I walked away very happy. At the beginning of the dam before you drive on the top of it you can turn right to a slightly elevated view point and it affords a... More

There are a few very nice views but it takes a while to get there. The roads are 90% Ok, a few places with ongoing works. It is a bit isolated so I am not sure it is worth the trip for a few minutes of nice views.

The dam is not as high as I expected but the view is gorgeous. Get an idea how large this reservoir lake is! A photo opportunity! Boats are for rent near by.

Hired a boat from restaurant on edge of reservoir for a wonderful late afternoon trip. Alhtough a reservoir, it is huge and natural-looking, with a number of islands, one of which featured monkeys which swam out to board the boat for a banana treat, causing female companions to scream loudly. The boatman assured them that, although wild, they did not... More

The Kaeng Krachan Dam is huge, and has several different part. there are lots of guesthouses, and restaurants in the area, and the area is also riddled with fantastic mountainbike trails, (if you know how to find them).
