Nice Shopping experience in Chiang Rai
Jan 2020 • Couples
OK, if you come in the afternoon, especially on a Sunday parking takes a little while. I like Tops, which has hard to find foreign foods like German Rye bread, Dutch Zero Alcohol beer, Italian Decaf coffee, etc.

I prefer the first floor food court, which has very reasonably priced "street food". Two people can eat like a king for 200B.

Also the local foods area on the first floor has some healthy food worth trying. I bought some rice powder made from Black rice, which is loaded with phytonutrients to add to smoothies, yogurt, waffles, etc.

Tops also has an OK salad bar. Tried Sizzler once-not as good as America. Also the Starbucks in Central is more expensive than Starbucks in America. There's also a couple sushi restaurants, which are quite expensive by local standards. I would guess not as good as mom & pop sushi joints in LA.

Clothes here are outrageous expensive, but even in America, who's dumb enough to shop at malls for clothes? Either people with more money than sense or Shopaholics up to their eyeballs in credit card debt.

Overall a great experience, highly recommend if you spend extended time in the city.

BEST MALL IN CHIANG RAI
Nov 2019 • Couples
We are regular visitors to CHIANG Rai and and we like to visit the MALL.
Tops super market is good.
Lots of shops and some times you get something good.
Also the both food parks have good verity. The food court on 3rd floor is good with very good seating you can relax eat comfortably.
Every visitor to CHIANG Rai must visit the MALL.
They provid free shuttle from any hotels .

Big mall with fantastic food court
Aug 2019 • Friends
My friend took me to the food court and I was surprised by the selection of local food they offer. We tried a a few dishes and they were of good quality and tasty. I was also in awe of their food presentation.

Didn't cover the entire mall but from the minimum walkaround, it looks quite big with a good selection of brands.

Really just another shopping centre. It has a nice food court, fresh food section but as far as the retail shops go, same same, no different. It was especially good to get out of the heat but left the centre having purchased nothing.

Not to exciting, yet does the job for the most

Older shopping mall, offers variety of shopping to satisfy basic needs and services. Tends to be on more expensive side compared to other similar venues. Grocery shop is very good and in line with similar ones in Bangkok, yet it’s expensive as per local standards. Food selection could be better, only few chain restaurants and one or two coffee shops is not really enough.

One stop shopping

Central Plaza Chiang Rai is similar to the other Central Malls in Thailand. It’s a mall where you can buy about anything you are looking for or find anything to eat.

There are not as many stores as other Central Malls that I have been to but this was fine. What is different about Central Plaza Chiang Rai is that they also have a Robinson Department Store located there.

There’s a lot of open spaces on the outside to sit and rest. There is also plenty of parking on the outside as well as underground parking.

20 baht bus with free WiFi
Jan 2019 • Couples
If you need a holiday from your holiday, then an hour or two wandering around Central Plaza might fit the bill nicely. All the usual suspects are here, including a cinema (only 6 theaters so not huge) and a good court.

To get there, you can take the Chiang Rai City Bus service, which only started operating towards the end of 2018. This bus actually runs between the airport and bus terminal 2 at the southern end of town, with stops at both the Night Bazaar and Central Plaza along the way. The bus runs every 30 minutes in both directions all day long. Just bear in mind that the last bus heading back into town from the mall leaves at 8:50pm. As noted, it costs 20 baht and you can get free WiFi on board.

We have visited lots of big
Malls in THAILAND and this one is GREAT. Not too big and comfortable to browse around. The best was the
Food Park much better and bigger than other malls.
Well furnished and lots of good choice for the food.
On my next trip will visit again

Some useful shops but mobbed on weekends.
Aug 2018 • Family
Central Plaza was opened a few years ago and has taken over from Big C as the 'go to' place for half the population of Chiang Rai on weekends. In the week it has a nice atmosphere to walk around in and there are a few useful shops such as Tops supermarket for those little Western luxuries that are hard to find elsewhere. If you have kids there's an entertainment floor at the top with a bouncy castle type play area and a mass of video game machines. There's also a multi-theatre cinema that show movies in both Thai and English. A lot of the shops sell the usual global brands. The parking can be an issue -especially at weekends, and forget about public holidays! The parking facilities are currently being expanded, but given how inadequate they currently are, don't expect much of an improvement going forward. As a tourist, I can't think why anyone would want to visit the place except to kill a rainy day or to enjoy the aircon. It's just a shopping mall after all. But the locals love it.
