About
This temple complex not only serves as a religious site for the monks who live and worship there, but also features a maze of natural caves in an overgrown jungle valley where stone tools, pottery remains and the mold for making Buddha footprints have been excavated.

Nice temple!

Nice place! If you wanna go upstairs be prepared, it’s kind of hard but absolutely worth it. The view on top it’s spectacular. It is cheaper if you just rent a bike and go there than paying for a tour.

A must do when in the area.

The 360° view at the top was amazing. Glad it was cloudy with not much sun burning me. Bring water, take your time, take a break and catch your breath often. I am a 61 year old male, and glad I did it.

Big effort big reward

Incredible views from the top. It’s a bit of a long way to get to the top with over a 1000 steps but it’s definitely worth the effort. 360 degree views back over Krabi and the countryside.

I have given this place 3*s as an 'average' rating because I don't have any information on what it is really like.

My taxi driver spoke to the entrance desk when I got here and it turns out the place is closed. So as a visitor you aren't able to go anywhere on site. Covid related no doubt. The lady manning the entrance desk wasn't sure when the place will be open again.

So, I'd exercise caution before coming here at the moment.

I think this place is very exciting. because there are hundreds of steps Even going up the stairs is quite tiring. But it is considered to be exercising in the body. Plus the temple itself is beautiful. It's worth the sweat.

Challenging Hike to the Top!
Apr 2021
At first we thought we could just drive to the top of this 550 meter elevation mountain, but then we discovered that we had to WALK to the top. We took 2 new friends with us and began the ascent of 1,260 cement steps. The tall mountain stairways seemed endless and we took many rests before reaching the top. The steps were also very dangerous at some points with very high risers and small areas for your feet. There were also some monkeys at one point and one of them took my water bottle! It took us nearly 2 hours to get to the top. Once we arrived at the top, the views were spectacular! The temple itself was not so great and there were many antennae that took away much of the beauty.

Not to be missed
Jan 2021
With the dearth of tourists this is one attraction worth going to now as the narrow stairway is quiet - lots of room to pass. To get to the top you have to climb 1,260 steps all of them quite steep. Going down can be dangerous so be careful. I used to be a very keen hill walker and my experience helped. I am now pushing 70 and not fit. Once you start feeling tired stop and rest; do not push yourself. If you feel dizzy sit down. There is room at the top of each flight to rest on the return. Going back down reduce the impact on your knees by using the handrail. On the bigger steps I used two hands coming down sideways. 40 minutes up, 25 down, not a record but I enjoyed the visit. And lots to see at ground level apart from the tiger cave itself.

Stuning View

It is one of a kind place. The hiking up the stairs is very challenging but the view at the top is worth it. Down inside the temple do not forget to walk behind the hill shown as 'Wonderland'.

Visit to the top ..a MUST!

1260 steps to the top. Not the most friendly stairs to climb.
What a view at the top.
The climb up is tough, the climb down can be tricky, be careful.

Amazing views.

This place was beautiful with amazing panoramic views of Krabi and free (except for a donation which I encourage you to consider). I can't stress enough that you must take a large bottle of water and be careful of the monkeys. An umbrella or stick may be advisable but not essential. Water is paramount with 1200+ steep steps. Not suitable for people with vertigo or who can't exert themselves physically for an hours up hill (slowly) climb. Plenty of toilets and rubbish bins. Please be careful when wet. Persevere as the view at the top is breathtaking. One of the most beautiful views in Thailand.
