Very average beach, there are so many other beaches much better than this. Not sure why this is so famous. Many people keep asking u to try water sports, I been asked at least by 5 people within 2 mins time. It is very annoying. The water sports were expensive as well. There are flags saying swim here and don't swimming here so it is very confusing

The beach is well maintained and the water is clear, not overcrowded on my visit in May. The fireworks at night were a nice touch.

A nice beach, can be busy, not really private, but well located in Patong. Well catered for with drinks or relaxing options and beach activities.

Beautiful pristine beach with an interesting set of restaurants, street merchants and shops. Our plan was to stay a few hours and we enjoyed it so much that we stayed the entire day. The water is clean, fun waves that weren’t too strong and best of all, plenty of ares with trees to get some shade.

The best part is evening walk over the beach and taking snaps of sunsets. We stayed at a nearby Hotel and came here everyday during our 4 day trip.
My mother in law enjoyed Paragliding on the beach, it costs 1500 bhatt.
The surroundings sand on the beach was stone less and whitish in colour. The beach itself was a beautiful one.

It's a beach. It's not the best beach in Thailand, but it is certainly better than anything in the UK. The water is so warm, the sand is fine and looks like sand, and there is shade if you get here early enough to bag a spot under the trees.
Failing that, if you want shade you'll have to barter with a sun lounger person or go to one of the many masseurs to have your muscles pumped and feet squeezed on the giant beachside beds.
Tripadvisor asks 'what would you suggest to improve it' - the answer would be to sack off the giant cruise ship that visits, belching out smoke and assorted other toxins into an environment the ship's owners don't give a stuff about.

The beach is a big strip of white sand, fringed with trees. The sea is nice. But it's in Patong, which isn't nice. It's like Magaluf, Malia etc.

Here it’s the most crowding place and noisy from Phuket. I mean the Patong Street , if you want to have some fun .. drinking something or dancing, or hear some live music, or to eat something, or to buy some clothes or accessories…or smoke something fun , then here it’s the place!

What should we do with the bag or telephone with us on the beach? Is it safe to leave the bag alone?

Private taxi to Patong = 800 Baht
Smart Bus to Patong = 175 Baht (go to their website for bus schedule)
Mini-bus to Patong = 200 Bhat (as mentioned you need to wait until it is full)
Hotels:
I will recommend in Patong = The Royal Paradise Hotel & Spa.

if you are planning phi phi, then would request you to ask what all will be covered, as its recommended you stay overnight to enjoy the whole or in a day you can have 2 option
1. go to phi phi stay have lunch and return
2. go to phi phi, then go ahead to see the other small attractions, like caves, monkey island, etc
so ask the operator for inclusions

One more question also what currency do you suggest and also is card or cash better. Thanks Janelle. Whoops forgot one thing what is the cost of transfer from airport to Patong and do you have to prebook

Surrin beach
Bang Tao beach
Nia Harn Beach
These beaches are cleaner
Visit the Temples Big Buddha is the most popular.
Spend the day at Nia Harn Beach then go to Phrom Thep Cape to watch the sunset before heading back for night life in Patong.
Thai bbq is a fun experience hassasipi rd has the best one.
If you like Dim Sum Mala in Kata/Karon is very good and well priced.
Day Trips like Phi phi island and James Bond Island (only use Diamond Sea Boat Tours!) Dont accept any other operator.
Naka night market is great for buying gifts i wouldn't shop anywhere else.
Dont rent Scooters or Motorcycles unless you want to die!
Transfer by Nana Taxi 700baht
Lots of decent meals at the night markets
7/11s have locked pricing less rip offs
Super cheap purple signs have the cheapest beer Nanai road
Daily spending wow seriouy depends $2 and up for draught...Bangla can drain you fast if you dont watch.
Never leave drinks unattended
Half full moons money grabs!but you might enjoy it.
