This is a must see for this area. The history and sad love story touches everyone. We took the long boat tour, did the castle and boathouse. It’s at least 5 hours with the boat tour sitting and everything else walking. Long Day for us...More

We arrived at Boldt Castle on the Clayton Island tours. This was a great boat with personable people. The castle was all that I dreamed. Reasonably priced and the remodeling is exceptional. The guides are all very friendly and knowledgeable. We had plenty of time...More

Bolt Castle was very interesting and beautiful. Not for very young children and requires a bit of walking. Would recommend, price for boat trip and castle tour very reasonable.

An absolutely must see if in the1,000 Lakes area. The short post shuttle ride to Heart Island is relaxing - if taken during summer months. The Island itself is beautiful - the Castile is probably 90% restored, still some work on basement and upper level...More

I visited this in the late 1960's or early 70's. Much different then. No electricity, no window, just a shell with millions of names on the walls. What a different. I hope they keep some of the rooms the same from when work stopped, to...More

This is an American Castle on the St Lawrence River. It is a much happier place than San Simeon...lighter in color and brighter spaces. Still be restored with the goods found in a NYC warehouse according to the original plans. It has a sad history...More

You have to experience Boldt Castle at least once in your life. It’s beautiful architecture and stunning grounds were incredible. Surrounded by water!! You couldn’t ask for a better experience....except there were 1000000000000000 children there on a school trip. Running around and yelling. I love...More

We recently found out that we could drive to Boldt Castle! The castle is in the Thousand Islands and is a popular stop for tour boats. First thing we did not know, was that we could drive across the Thousand island bridge, turn east and...More

I don’t think so. You can see the castle from a Canada an boat, but you can’t visit the island without a visa. They have a border patrol at the island

I think it is wheelchair accessible was there this past summer and I am sure there were elevators to other floors. But email them to make sure. Enjoy your trip there.
