A tower with a view

As others have said, there is little of interest within the tower, but the views are superb. One point on safety. Near some of the doors are raised brick plinths. My wife approached a doorway, was blinded by the daylight, and fell over the plinth giving a good impression of a goalkeeper. Thankfully, not much blood was spilt!

Close to the port and an excellent focal point: not sure how much more is gained by paying to enter.

I will be honest, from the outside I thought this was just your average old building (my partner is the history buff, not me). I was mistaken, massively. On entering, the inside is totally different. Continuing on up stairs, the layout shows you how the Tower was used for defence. A 360 degree view of the area. Going up further,... More

The tower is a must see, at least from the outside, as it truly is the symbol of the city. It is located by the end of the beach, so getting there by foot is easy and means walking through nice environment. Close to the tower you will also find more attractions to visit, so make sure to take a... More

There was a good wiev from the top of the Red tower. But inside the tower wasn't much of anything. Few miniature boats and little bit of history, but I was waiting more. And you need to buy a ticket to the Red Tower.

Visited the red tower in April. Fortunately it was not yet summer and hot - the steep stairs were tough even now. We never made it to the top floor as we went walking to the wall admiring the views from there. The exhibition was interesting, but I would appreciate if there were texts in several languages
