I suggest that you make an effort to read up on the history of the site before you visit and, on arrival, visit the rocky cliff at the back of the amphitheatre area overlooking the river to understand the full horror of what happened twice...More

Big place, no shade, so don't go in the August mid day heat. Worth a visit, really interesting. Toilets and drinks available on site.
