One of many musts sees in Göreme

Famous fancy formations. Take your time to wander around and believe you are in Hobbiton or some fairy-tale.

We were so excited to see the Fairy Chimneys and its a lovely walk around around the Chimneys but visitors are littering everywhere with coffee cups left in the chimneys and not respecting the history which is very sad and has sadly put my husband off recommending a visit there as all other sites we've visited are cared for so... Make sure you got all your camera, phone battery charged up. It was amazing. See so many different shaped features. Great experience walking around. There were few local stores where you can get some souvenirs but make sure u ask for a discount.

The caps protect the bottoms from erosion - at least for a time. As you walk through the area, you see the effects of erosion over time. They will all be worn away sooner or later. Meanwhile, what a different landscape to visit. The shapes are actually quite different than appear in Badlands National Park or Bryce Canyon. When you... More

Where else in the world can one experience something like this? Nowhere. Capadoccia, Turkey - beautiful, affordable, steeped in history - it is a privilege to be able to go back in time and be in a setting like this. Communities lived and worshipped and found shelter in these structures - above and below ground. Hot air balloons let one... More

Located quite far from Goreme but very worth going there. The stones look so cute and adorable. Can just book a taxi and spend 1-2 hours there.

We went in the midst of a snowstorm. The area does not seem prepared to deal with snow and there was not any snow clearing equipment or salting of the paths, which makes things a little more treacherous. I don't know who has seen a fairy chimney, but I am pretty sure that these geographical formations look like penises, not... More
