Well preserved Roman town which you walk through to get to the calcium laden hillside. Cleopatra's pool is a beautiful example of the Roman's love of bathing. You walk through the necropolis before you get to the town. Distance is about 3kms total.

The food at the Apollo Cafe & Emporium (where the ancient pool is) was not only reasonably priced, but delicious and satisfying. Typical Turkish fares; I personally feel that the ice-cream there is a must-eat. Temples, shrines and mausoleums dot this sprawling Hellenistic city. Apollo once ruled over this great land - no matter your faith or creed, stop by... More

Visited on combined trip to pamukkale and hierapolis. Extensive archaeological site with two amphitheatres and many other features such as the agora. Worth a visit for history lovers.

Whilst many travellers seem to be content with viewing the delights of the pools at Pamukkale - we think they are missing out. It really is worth taking the time and trouble to hike that little bit extra to take in the Ancient City of Hierapolis.

I went to see Hierapolis & Pamukkale back in July this year and I have to say it's has to be one of the most amazing sightsto see in Turkey. I went on a four hour coach trip to see this sight and had to get up at about 5:30 in the morning as it was a long journey. But... More

Pamukkale, or as the greek called it, Hierapolis, is an amazing place to visit. The accumulation of calcium over milleniums from hot springs forming a white cascade over hillfront presents an ethereal sight. It is also an ancient city which are accessible for tourista.
