Interesting history

The Castle museum is an interesting bit of history of Gaziantep and the area. Great views of the city, the main castle appears to be under renovations.

The castle was closed during my last visit and this time I had the chance to visit it. It has a museum inside where you can learn about the Turkish War of Independence. You are not allowed to go beyond the museum.

It has a good view of the city above and it's near #Gaziantep sign if you want to take a pic with that, inside it's a memory of wars and those who died fighting for their people. Go there if you have spare time to kill!

It is beautiful when you see it appear in the middle of the city. But the "visit to the castle" is just to see a little cave that became a museum. I think they should allow people to go inside.

Not a big caste, at the moment under restoration, so you cannot access the highest points, only a tunnel filled with memories of the heroic fights of the people for the city. It's free to visit, and you can enjoy also a nice view over the city before you enter inside the visiting tunnel. Few nice mosques and town architecture,... More

My time in Gaziantep was made really special by visiting the museum at the castle. The history of the city and region is fascinating. Thoroughly enjoyable

It's very close to the center but when you reach there, most of the castle is closed. You can only see a small part of the castle which is inside the castle. The entrance is for free but i'd rather pay and see everything inside... The visit will take you 5 minutes

The Castle is probably the most recognizable landmark in the city of Gaziantep. You can currently enter in for free but there is only a very small part of it accessible to the public. This part is loaded propaganda that shares a "mostly true" account the "heroic Turkish patriots" who defended the city from the "vile French aggressors" who were... More

You can't access to the castle per se but you can go to the museum in it and spend a couple of hours there reading :)

This could be a major attraction for the region, the panorama exhibition is quite nice and certainly interesting, but why isn't the other 90% of the fortress used? Have people discover the ramparts and the courtyard...why is this not developed?
