Visit Hz. Sems before you visit Mevlana Museum.

As the customs, please visit this tomb first, pay respect to the Spiritual Master of the Mevlana. Peaceful place for prayers/meditations.

This is the mausoleum of Sems tebrizi the teacher of Moulana Rumi. After paying your respects you can take a short walk from here to the mausoleum of Moulana Rumi. Lots of shops around selling gift items relating the 2 mausoleums.

After going to Rumi's museum and learning about him, I came to Sems, who is Rumi's teacher. It is nothing significant but you might as well come. It is a small mosque in a park and it is free. Beware the begging children outside.

The entire mosque and tomb and the adjacent museum are an eye opener to somebody who knew nothing about this line of the faith.

A great place to pray or spend time in contemplation and solitude. All religions welcome and a very friendly Iman will make you feel at home. It is customary visiting Shems tomb prior to Mevlana's

While the Mevlana Museum is large and ornate, the Shams Tebrizi tomb and mosque is understated and simple, which was very nice to see. There is a wonderful calm and tranquility about the place. We just sat there for a while and soaked in the atmosphere and meditated. Left with a lighter heart.

❤️Shams of Tabrez❤️ His place is just like him; A mystry that never cared for this world to unravel before. While Mevlana's shrine still draws crowds, Shams RA's (said) place is aloof and self assured in its own way. Perfect if you really want to spend some time with him.

If you appreciate Sufism then most definitely this place is worth visiting. Spend a few minutes in the mosque and feel a very calm and spiritual energy making your holiday different from the other usual holidays.

Visit Shams I Tebrizi as well if you are in Konya for visiting Mawlana Celaleddin Rumi. He was Rumis teacher and soulmate. I found great peace visiting his tomb. If it is a prayer time it is a problem. Either wait or try to go in and stay at the back. Women can go up and look down on the... More

Sems tomb should be visited if you are coming to Konya to pay attribute to Mavlana Alrumi. However you to know that there is a huge doubt that this is his true tomb. The tomb is located inside a small mosque that is nicely preserved
