Was quite disappointed as this was closed for restoration. I felt like we had a wasted journey as we couldn’t visit this place as it was one of the main attractions we wanted to visit.

Off the Main Street in Konya lies the mosque of Shams Tabrizi , containing his empty tomb. If you have come to Konya for contemplation and quiet prayer , this is the place to go. Much fewer tourists come here to do ablutions in the...More

But closed for renovation. The note outside the mosque gives no hint about its reopenning. One can have a rest at the nice park surrounding the spot.

Th tomb of Shams Tebrezi is not very far from the Mevlana Museum, You can pay your respects here and when we visited it, it was not very crowded.

Located just 10 minutes by walk from Mevlana museum. Sems-i Tabriz was the most impressive person in Mevlana's life. He changed Mevlana's mind about world, love, and poet. Don't miss this attraction in Konya. The entrance is free.

Pay a visit to Shems Tebrizi's tomb, as Rumi would not have been Rumi if it wasn't for Shems. They cannot be thought of separately! Must visit in Konya! Felt very tranquil and peaceful, glad that we went!

This is location of Mevlana Rumi's tomb. There are tombs of other famous dervishes at this location. There is also a museum displaying clothing and artifacts used by dervishes over the centuries.

If you ever make it to Konya and you visit everything related to Rumi but not Shems, you will indeed lose many things! Shems has a very simple and humble mosque which is so well looked after by the people. Whenever you go there, it...More

A small mosque in a small park. The park was nice and the mosque was very simple and small. The tomb was inside the mosque in a corner with a big covering fabric. There is not a evidence that Shems tabrizi has died in Konya...More

Yes, it is true , the mosque is closed for renovations. But the park around it and the fountain is open day and night. Does someone know how long restorations will take ? Rumi’s tomb is also closed for renovation, but the... More
