It's worth going there even if Sumela are closed for renovation till next year July 2017 I think The narrow road among the woods and along the water falls river

it s a jewel that remind being in the french alps, i am so sorry that places that receive the visitors are not regularly cleant, and i am much more sorry about thos who don t respect the sacredness of this places by behaving themselves throughing garbage on nature, respect! beautiful place, a must...

We had to pay 9 Turkish Lira to take our car into the national park. Whilst the park is dramatically beautiful - the only reason we entered it was to access Sumela Monastery - so it feels like an expensive toll road for the five kilometres that we used! You have to enter this national park to visit Sumela Monastry and after our visit we wanted to drive through the park. There are no park maps available at entrance and we were told the road cannot go through to Gumushane , although our large road map of Turkey and our GPS showed that it is possible . We had... More
