Very nicely done museum having to do with the 1709 defeat of the Swedish King Charles XII by the forces of Peter I (otherwise known as Peter the Great). Seeing the coat worn by Peter I was worth coming here, such a fashionista.

This museum is a short drive out from the city center, and located near a few monuments and a church. The museum has some interesting exhibits and artefacts and focuses mostly on the battle with the Swedish empire. Very lovely and worth the drive.

We enjoyed the museum. We liked the presentation of artifacts, weapons, paintings, pictorials, and scenes of geography and battles. The church is also well the trip inside and you can light s candle if you like.

this is a small, local museum that does a good job outlining the history of the area going back to the stone age. Good way to kill an hour.
