It is called "chateau", but I think it is a classic medieval fortress. It has very nice and tall walls and expozitions from the Ukrainian history, Czechoslovakian history and from zakarpattian nature. But there are not so many interenting things at the courtyard.

We had a weekend to spend and decided to visit in this place. They should put a bit more English language descriptions to lighten up the history and the exhibitions presented. Castle itself is great! Some renovation works hopefully soon to be made - place starts to get worn out. Absolutely worth of seeing!

I really like the musical instruments exhibit in the castle and info about all the peoples who have lived together in this territory for generations. The old village allows you to see how people used to live. It's interesting to... More

Its a beautiful castle and to think that so much of it is still standing. I would suggest getting a tour guide if you are not familiar with the history of that particular castle.

The exterior of the castle is more interesting for me as it is like an old castle should be with a sword in the stone (outside wall) for added interest but inside it has been too modernised with a small museum and there is nothing much to take you back in time to what it might have been like. All... More

castle with a museum inside. nothing special but you will feel the atmosphere of that time clergy's life and learn what is the traditional clothes for the Western region of Ukraine. One more interesting room - with musical instruments! you will see the longest instrument in Europe there)

It's a good waste of time if you're bored and don't have anything better to do, but don't expect miracles.
