It is fun to be up high enjoying the view! I recommend going to the lighthouse when it is not raining. They take US dollars, Argentine pesos, or local money. Paying in Uruguay money seemed to be the best deal.

Its cute but it's just a small working lighthouse. Children under 10 are not allowed to go up.

The city itself is worth the visit! And up this old lighthouse is a great way to enjoy the beautiful view of this charming city. It is paid but it's worth. If the weather is nice you can see if Buenos Aires in the distance.

beautiful and well worth it in the old part of the city. Make sure you don't get stuck up there as only one person can climb the stairs at a time!

Lost my hat in a sudden gust of wind but it was worth it to see the Rio de la Plata all the way to Buenos Aires and the Burquebus sailing in, not to mention the vistas of Colonia.
