Reaching Out is a social enterprise, training and employing persons with disabilities. Our artisans create beautiful gifts of high quality from tea ware patterned after that used by the Imperial family in Hue to elegant table ware and bedspreads of colourful silks. Our silver jewellery is designed in-house by our staff and made right on the premises. Customers are invited to visit the workshop which is right behind the retail store to watch how their purchases have been made.

Our staff are willing to answer your questions and of course can tell you the details of the processes by which your gifts are crafted.

They will also proudly show you to our Tea House, where you can experience a cup of coffee or tea, served in the traditional Vietnamese manner by our speech and hearing impaired staff.

We went to this store on the recommendation of a friend who had visited Vietnam a few months previously. We found more than beautiful products - but a cause committed to providing rewarding vocations to disabled people . We bought all our gifts and souvenirs from our trip there and after coming home to Australia, contacted them to buy some... More

Great shop and better still for supporting some wonderful disabled workers with talent. We could have bought loads of wonderful items but could only buy a few due to luggage weight !! Wish I'd bought the lovely dragonfly earrings .! Well done everyone working there you produce some great gifts.

We came across this shop by accident and were amazed at the quality and diversity of work on display. Once we understood the purpose of Reaching Out it added a layer of meaning to each item. The prices were more than reasonable and they even shipped our purchase to Australia!

I stumbled into this store by accident and loved all of the beautiful crafts inside even before realizing the mission of the business. After looking around I walked to the back where a lot of the items were being made and that is when I realized this business was employing individuals with disabilities to make their crafts. What an amazing... More

An idea was hatched and came to fruition..........employing many very talented disabled Vietnamese artists to make wonderful gifts and homewares which are sold in a shop in the old town. I have visited this store each time I come to Hoi An and I am never disappointed. You can also go into the workshop to observe these talented artisans at... More

Stumbled into this store on our first night walking the river. So gald we did, wonderfully crafted art and home products is a relief from the 100 of shops selling the same junk. We ended up buying a beautiful queen quilt for about 220 usd. Staff is friendly and helpful. Delighted to spend my money here. Hope to go back... More

We sure are glad that you "stumbled" into Reaching Out! It is nice to hear that we were able to delight you and that you will return to see the staff working in the workshop. Seeing the products being made adds meaning to them and embroiders memories. Hope that you meet Thuy, who most likely made your bedspread. The cookies... More

Our handcrafted silver jewellery is all designed in-house, often by the artisans themselves. We endeavour to keep our designs true to Vietnamese tradition whilst incorporating fresh new looks. Thank you for the review and directions!!! More

We visited this gift shop on several occasions because so many beautiful items had caught our eye but also because we wanted to see the workshop in action! We saw the employees, who have a range of disabilities, working on lots of different items including weaving tablemats, decorating crockery, making cards and all of them seemed to enjoy their work... When you see the people making the crafts and how much work goes into it, and the fact that they employ people who might not otherwise be employed, you can't do anything other than open your wallet here. The staff are friendly and super nice.
