Walk in Dr. David Livingstone's footsteps and sit under the "Meeting Place" tree where he and the Mukuni people met as they helped him find his way to discover Victoria Falls. Experience and discover the day to day traditional village life of the warm and vibrant Mukuni Village people from housing, agriculture, education and family through a cultural and historical tour. Here you'll find incredible, handmade arts and crafts that support fair trade and the people in the Historic Mukuni Village in Livingstone, Zambia. Getting to Mukuni Village is a simple 10-20 minute drive from most local resorts and Victoria Falls. While most every cab, taxi or livery driver know the location of the historic and traditional Mukuni Village, those who are new to the area or visiting should contact us to confirm driving directions. From Victoria Falls, on Livingstone Way / Mosi-Oa Tunya, head East on the road opposite The Royal Livingstone and Zambezi Sun Resorts. Follow it to Mukuni Rd and continue heading East onto Mukuni Rd. Where the road ends in front of an enormous mango tree, Chief Mukuni's Palace, the African Craft Market and where the Cultural Tours begin.

This is an active village of over 7000 residents where tours allow you to glimpse into the life of the locals and struggles they have in daily chores. It is eye opening. A MUST SEE. There is a chance to buy gifts at the end...More

So much of what is seen around the Falls seems very touristy, and I was longing to understand more about life away from the tourist attractions. While my guide also helped me visit Chinotimba, the non-tourist living area on the edge of Vic Falls, his...More

Hi you can just ask a taxi driver to take you there - when you arrive someone will be waiting to welcome tourists who would like a tour. It's free but you should leave a tip.
