It's super boring and there's nothing interesting to see inside. The architecture isn't even that aesthetically pleasing either. I'd recommend just going to Sanmachi Suji or somewhere outside of Takayama instead. Don't waste your time and your money here.

Very interesting historically. Very few English explanations, but there are free guided tours in English part of the time.

Lots of rooms to walk round. Not many signs in english to explain the exhibits but enjoyable. Not too busy when we went there so pleasant looking around.

Located downtown. One of 2 morning markets are in the front courtyard of this building. Toured on our own, lots of history of Takayama. You get a glimpse of how people lived, and how important Takayama was in the Edo period.

The Takayama Jinya is the only government facility that exists from the time before the Edo period. A beautiful and highly recommended visit if in Takayama. Truly breathtaking beauty!
