In the old heart of Takayama. It's free to visit and has an interesting photo display that shows the past history of the region.

Was there on a rainy and cold day but that did not stop me from walking around Takayama and the Municipal Government Hall was free admission, worth the visit.

As a couple of English-speaking Americans, we didn't get a lot out of our visit to this historic site. It is an impressive complex of buildings, but difficult to comprehend. There is a nice garden area.

We were to tired to go in. The architecture was incredible and we enjoyed that. We actually went back to the market for some more shopping. Looking for a vase!

Very well preserved and well maintained. Definitely worth a visit as you get to see how a really old municipal government building actually looks like and with a bit of imagination, you can imagine how it was run during the Edo era.

昔の市役所です。古い建物の雰囲気はたっぷりです。特に案内はありませんが 休憩もかねて立ち寄ってみてください。 This is the old town hall. Take your shoes off, come feel the atmosphere of Japan You take rest in this old building.

This is my little rant... almost nothing in this museum is translated to English. Shame as the place is beautiful and seems interesting. This is probably a useless review as nobody there can read my comment lol
