It's definitely the best spot to see a mesmerising sunset in Matsue. Note that you can also book a boat trip on the lake.

From Matsue New Urban Hotel you'll have a great view on the lake. Watch fishermen do the line catching and enjoy the view on the bridges across the river.

we arrived in town, just in time to head to the lake and take in the famous sunset. Not the best day weather-wise, but still well worth the effort for the view and a hint of what the really good days must be like.

One of the best landscapes in Japan. A really good taste of the Japanese relaxation. Go and see the sunset and if you can try the feet onsen at shinjiko station

Well.... It was OK as boat cruises go. Basically the staff piloted the boat and kindly pressed the play button to the shouty recording playing back to is assorted bumpf about what we were looking at. Thankfully the beautiful scenery carried the day.
