When you visit Hokkaido and you are a seafood lovers, this place at Otaru is must-be in your list. The market include dine in restaurant just located besides Otaru train station. There is the most memorable place for real seafood, its like a clean wet market with live seafood like lobster, Alaska crab etc but provide dine-in and various menu come with rice, it’s always rush hours in here, no matter Japanese or tourists. Eneko Shop offers the kind of food you have to work for. It’s virtually impossible to avoid a queue, and you’re likely to be elbow-to-elbow with strangers. Stunning seafood dishes like octopus are profound in their simplicity, bringing out clean, startlingly robust flavors. Make sure you have the more ambitious dishes like the Seafood rice bowl with Hokkaido specialty, ikura (salmon roe) for a total experience which is dizzying and unforgettable. To get to this Fish Market you get a JR Train from Sapporo station to Otaru. Then it's a 5 minute walk from the station. You can miss the entrance as it looks like a normal doorway. All seafood here is on show in tanks especially the crabs, you can choose how big you would like. There are quite a few small shops where you can have your meal ,you just need to put your name down on a list and wait to be called. They will cook what you have chosen and bring it to you. You can choose from the menu also If you want something more. We had snow crabs boiled and cooked, herring, oysters, sashimi. All food is delicious and enjoyable. You can take your time as the sellers/ owners do not rush you as they like you to spend time and relax.…
