About
The Little Prince Museum is the world’s only museum devoted to The Little Prince. It was created as part of the worldwide celebration of the birth centennial of author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The museum, which explores Saint-Exupéry’s life, also features a French townscape and European garden, set within the lush natural beauty of Hakone.

The museum gave me a deeper knowledge about the life of the author of The Little Prince. It also tackled loads of historical connection to the book. I just wish the movie about little prince and Saint-Exupery has some English subtitle for international guests to appreciate it too.

Interesting small museum close to Hakone Highland hotel. Should be visited if you with kids in this area to introduce this famous book and get taste of French townscape and garden.

Even if you are a fan of The Little Prince, I would still say the museum seems overpriced. The gardens are very pretty, but small. You can walk around the property and see re-created buildings and store fronts that are mostly facades except for actual souvenir shops. I couldn't find any re-creation of the snake that swallowed an elephant, although it is featured in their brochure. I even asked for help, but there isn't much help in English from the attendants, the signage, or the English language brochure. If you don't mind the expense, though, and you have the time, it is a pleasant enough stop for about 30 to 60 minutes, even accounting for a LOT of picture-taking, and you can then continue to the Venetian Glass Museum which has more to see.
The bus to that area left our hotel around 9am and the last bus back was around 2:30pm, so after travel time we only had about 3 hours to see both museums. In hindsight, we could have skipped The Little Prince and spent more time in the Venetian Glass Museum.

I found this “museum” extremely overpriced for the poor content you get. In addition, all labels in the exhibition part are only in Japanese. Same for the movie. Completely not suited for foreigners.

It’s a small museum however while some reviews have complained it is not well maintained and faded it is impact a very charming little place. The grounds and old european influenced structures really bring back childhood delight. The place is small enough to complete under an hour and yes the admission is 1600yen which is pricey compared to open air museum and pola museum where more to see and do. I was happy with the gift shop as being a fan of Le Petit Prince I could find many unusual souvenirs.

As a concept, this museum is really fun and unexpected. We detoured for a visit because my wife often teaches The Little Prince in her high school French classes and I have read a couple of St. Exupery novels. The gardens are small but lovely, and the recreated buildings really set a French mood. But it's all a bit disappointing: the map/guide that comes with your ticket is available in English, Japanese, Korean or Chinese, but NOT FRENCH! There is some cute French on signs and buildings to set the mood (but some of it is incorrect, like the perfume store named "Flagrances" -- Flagrances?! 'fragrances' isn't really even used in regular French, never mind the r/l juxtoposition). More practically, explanations in English are sporadic, which can be frustrating to the minority of non-Japanese visitors (I lived in Japan for years and can read fine, but no way was I going to translate every explanatory sign for my wife and daughter as we walked through). Anyway, the coolest part for me is the room with dozens of copies of Le Petit Prince in various languages and editions from around the world.

Someone complained about food and needing to pay admission. Ignore them. A) it's a museum, paying admission is expected (and the cost here in particular is minimal), and B) it's a museum, don't to be going out for dinner (there's food, it's a little pricey for what it is, but within the range for a niche area).

If you like the little prince, you will LOVE this exhibit. Worth going out of our way to get to. There are multiple floors and areas to explore all packed with information (and accompanying booklets with various languages translated). Some stations were interactive, some spoke to the author specifically, his other works, and of course, the little prince. Tons to see.

We went to this place because we are fan of little price. The food is worse than those 711 fast food but yet they charge a premium. Also they charge entry ticket to a very small “museum”

I will not recommend .

A charming little museum dedicated to Antoine de Saint Exupery the author of the Little Prince. It is a reproduction of a little french village with a garden all around where kids can play. Inside the museum there are two rooms which are re-creations of St Exupery's childhood room and the room where he wrote the Little Prince. The hallway walls as well as the two rooms are covered with hand written letters as well as drawings by St Exupery. My visit to the museum was very nostalgic as it brought me back in time to my childhood! I truly loved it!
