This was a fun way to get to our hotel. Crossed the lake on this pirate ship. Nice view of the scenery from the lake. A lot more fun then taking the bus!

Basically packed with tourists and no place to sit. Even the priority seats are taken up by everyone else rather than the priorities. The view is jus the lake and the mountains of trees...nothing really exciting.

Still don't get the pirate ship thing, but it was a pleasant short trip across the lake. Unfortunately a very overcast day meaning a bit cool & windy on deck, no sighting of My Fuji & not much else to see. Lots of people on...More

Strange to find pirate ships in Japan. The kids will love this. Buy tickets at the pier. The ships run regularly and you have 2 stops. One takes you to the cable cars which take you up to the sulphur crater. Always plenty of eateries,...More

I would just take a photo of the ship and be done. On the day we went on the ship, it was foggy so we could not see a thing. They also tend to overload the ship so that you could not see much if...More

Surreal experience that would only happen in Japan! I never thought I would be on a pirate ship crossing the lake! I read reviews before going that gave some really good advise! Get there early and pay the extra to go first class as it...More

This boat takes you to different points on the lake. As it’s name suggests it looks like a pirate ship but is a bit of fun and obviously touristy. However nice way to see the lake and get some lovely views and photograph the Hakone...More

Oct 4 We did not have to wait long before embarking on one of the "pirate" ships that crosses Lak Ashi. The exterior might remind you of a pirate ship, but the interior is like any ferry boat. Prime seats go fast. There is little...More

There are 3 beautiful porate ships for cruising in Lake Ashi. We managed to try 2 of them: Victory and Wasa. The 3rd one is Royale II. Dyring our cruise on board the Victory, one of the crew members was dressed up in a Captain's...More

We went one way on the pirate ship which I think was enough to enjoy the views of the lake and the torii on the edge. Today was a rubbish day in terms of weather and view, but you’re inside on the boat so at...More

I have only been to Motohakone - a good selection of shops and a great restaurant/cafe that overlooks the lake. The boat usually stops at both - so you can do both if you have the time.
