Our kids enjoyed the cog train to the ropeway and we all loved the views of Mount Fuji at the top. After we took a boat ride across Lake Ashi. It was a fun day and I highly recommend it!

The vIews are spectacular, especially Mt. Fuji on a clear day. From the terminal we walked around for more shots, then bussed to Lake AshInoko.

Went on with the family including 2 teenage girls. Watching them react to the smell of the volcanic gases was priceless. Unfortunately I couldn't get them to eat the eggs (onsen tamago). We had clear weather in June so had a nice view of Mount...More

We used the rope ways to travel to Lake Ashi and back via Owakudani, the cable cars were not packed with people so still had enough room to move around inside and take photos etc. A good experience but not recommended if you don't like...More

Did this as part of the loop. Very easy to navigate along with the other elements. We were lucky to have good views of Mount Fuji but you can't rely on this. Interesting at the top with thermal steam vents and black eggs. Surprised that...More

I wanted to spend a day at some place near Tokyo and Hakone seemed the best choice: Mountains, a lake and a well-structured ride including bus, train, cablecar and A ship promising stunning views? That was it. I bought the Hakone pass and did the...More

Very worthwhile experience! Not nearly as long queues as we expected. Wonderful scenic views and efficient and friendly service.

We took the ropeway (gondolas) from Owakudani to Sounzan (the western half of the line was closed, with a replacement bus service operating). The gondolas offer fantastic views over the volcanic vents and the surrounding countryside.

Excellent views over the wonderful valley below then over the crest to see Mt Fuji. Stopped up the top for a icecream and view of volcanic action. Part of the Hakone Pass which is highly recommended.

You don't need to be train lover to enjoy it, the only point to comment is that in crowded hours and hot days air condition will support.

The easiest way is to take the Romance Train from Subuya station. It departs from the upstairs platform and is a quick ride to Hakone main station, where you change to the local train up the mountain. The trains depart... More

I think it is very safe. But one of the stop has a very strong hot spring smell, so I would be safe to check with your OB first. The rope is very safe but long ride.
