We walked about 15 minutes from our hotel in Chinatown (Rose Yokohama). 4 of us enjoyed some of the shops and a classy small deli/grocery. I picket up a boxed pair of beautiful crystal tumblers in one shop. The shopp[ing strip is only about 3 blocks long, so an hour or two should suffice..

Lots of high end stores. Stores close rather early so plan this as a day trip. There wasn't much for me here.

There are some very nice shops at Motomachi. It's a good walk along the street and there are many chic shops around and speciality shops as well. In December there were lights along the street that gave it a really nice wintery feel to it.

We were attracted to the Motomachi shopping street in Yokohama by some promotional materials from the Japan Travel Bureau. The street is rather narrow and full of small boutique shops and some specialty stores, such as jewellery. Good for people looking for some special items but not really too useful for occasional visitors.

5 blocks of shopping and dining on Motomachi and the next street over away from the canal. Narrow streets with excellent sidewlk and street surface treatment. Many dining options in small intement cafes serving a wide variety of international cuisine. The street is well worth a couple of hours. Close to other visitor options also. Chinatown, Yamashita Park are close... More

A compact shopping area with good selection of outlets and eateries. At Christmas it's really a great place to get you in the festive spirit, but at anytime of year it's a pleasant stroll along a not too crowded shopping area

Motomachi used to be the place to shop, visit the doctor, and just wander around. The shops are still there, I am not sure about the doctors, but the street is still charming and a wonderful place to just wander about in.

I love this type of street in Japan. Just walking amongst the crowd, findings places to eat and drink when I want to . Very nice.

Like so much in Japan, the shopping was out of our price range. There were some high-end designers, mixed with local shops and western chains. The best part of Motomachi was stopping at all the little bakeries for treats (Pompodour was our favorite) and then walking with my daughter and picking our favorite outfits in each window. It was a... More

the most interesting part of the walk was the discovery of a building that the town built to accomodate toilet facilities. the place is called 'oasis'. wonderful surprise as the place had a lift to the floor of public toilets and was clean beyond belief!
