absolutely worth the visit....I was a bit sceptical at first, thinking just old trains - but it was really impressive, lots of history, so many full size trains, so much for kids to do and very much worth the trip

Its currently undergoing building works do the education centre on the first, second and third floors were closed. However, it was still a most enjoyable visit. The outside play area has also been removed while the site is renovated. Be sure to reserve the little...More

This museum shows various kinds of old Japanese train including steam train and Shinkansen which means first bullet train all over the world. You can enjoy train simulator just similar to true train cockpit. Please try them

I visited museum with my girlfriend and brother. It really interesting place even for peaple who aren't interasted in railway history. The most impressive for me was the exhibition we can see large and old trains.

You can easily spend a large part of the day here. The place has old trains, including a bullet train, on display, and you can get in and pull the levers and push the buttons on a lot of them! They have a virtual experience...More

Take the Saikyo line to Omiya, then exit and take the New Shuttle (private railway) (if you don't see the sign ask at information desk) and it is 1 stop. There should be signs to the Railway museum.
