This is another beautiful shrine and very peaceful, as it is given a miss by many tourists. We were the only folks there on an early morning. Not as flashy and ornate as Toshu-go but worth a visit nevertheless, as it is in the same...More

There Taiyuimbyo Shrine craftsmanship is really wonderful. The artworks are stunning and outstanding. There are many visitors traveling to this place each day. In order to avoid the crowds, do come early.

Nothing to complain about really, not the best temple I've seen in Japan but worth a visit if you are in the area. The 3 monkey restoration though is a massive disappointment and looks really bad (they look plastic and fake now).

A stunning, sprawling shrine in beautiful Nikko. Even on a rainy day it was teeming with visitors. Take the extra 100+ stairs to visit the burial place of a shogun.

I visited on a holiday weekend and was able to observe Japanese dressed in traditional attire pay homage to the shrine. It gave me goose bumps!

Nice shrine located at the North West edge of Nikko, in a walkable distance from Nikko railway station. Worth a visit together with other shrines nearby.
