Nikko Japan is naturally beautiful little city about 1 hour drive from Tokyo The shrine garden and mountain shrine Both amazing The park has a beautiful water falls Little walking to do but worth it

This is a good sized park with many places to stop and see. We bought the bus pass which makes it very easy and accessible. There are hot springs, temples, shrines, lakes, waterfalls and more.

Fall foliage comes earlier to Nikko due to the altitude. It peaked in the first week of October in 2015.
