This site is not a reason to visit Nikko, but it is on the way to the major temples and is both quaint and photogenic.

It's a short bridge over Daiyagawa River and it'd take you less than a minute to cross the bridge (for good fortune).

It is a small bridge with clear river. It is nice to take picture from a distance. It is ridiculous that you have to pay 300 yen to walk over it, which would have taken 2'. May be this is done on purpose to limit...More

A nice bridge with beautiful view. This red bridge is a famous landmark of Nikko. Anyway, it smaller than our expect. You have to pay 300 yen, if you want to cross the bridge.

Nice bridge, worth to take picture there if you are already at Nikko. 5 minutes walk from the 1st bus stop.

Is a beautiful place in the heart of Nikko. Unfortunately the bridge itself is closed for public. You can see it from az other bridge close to the old one that was wonderfully renewed

It was a lovely day to visit and I really enjoyed it . Beautiful place to visit en route to the shrines and temples. Absolutely worth it .

Just off the road this bridge was used in films. You can't go on it and it isn't shiny and lacquered but it is worth a look.

It's a bridge with special historical meaning, but the sight itself is a bit underwhelming for me. And you have to pay a small fee to get close to it too. If not, just viewing it on another bridge is already acceptable for me.
