We went on 8 Oct, 2017 and the one turret still intact was hidden behind some scaffolding for renovation. Wish I had known that before hand. The walls are still quite impressive, and the hike up to the top is very reasonable, but with small...More

The castle ruins stand above Maizuru Park. In the park itself is a lovely wooden castle gate. It’s an easy climb up to the top of the castle hill. First there is a sloped ramp with steps. As you get higher up and further along...More

This is a great walk around a quiet set of walls steeped in history, and gives you the idea of how vast the city and fortress once was. A visit to the ar conditioned visitor centre is a must before walking around though as signage...More

We stopped here for a quick walk through with the family while at Ohori Park. It is a nice piece of history to see, especially since it is adjacent to the park. Enjoy!

This is next to Ohori Park and is worth the hike and time. During Sakura (cherry blossom ) this is the epicenter and a must see.

The Fukuoka Castle ruins has been well preserved. There is not too much left to see around the area and is a bit of a hike to walk up however I think it's worth seeing.
