Spectacular drive with a couple of car park stops. There are shops selling local produce or local catch! Check for lobster restaurant if visit here from mid September to late November!

The Nichinan coast in Miyazaki is a hidden treasure! There is a spectacular view of the coast and some rather interesting rock formations. Even better, there is an Easter Island theme park with replicas of the moai statues. The park can be easily accessed by a bus which also stops at the shrines on the way.

Don't miss the chance to visit Nichinan Coast when you visit Miyazaki, where you can find the nice view of coastal stones, seaview, ...etc.

While I was visiting Miyazaki major attractions were Aoshima beach and Udo shrine. From Aoshima to Udo shrine on the way is Nichinan coast. So, no one needs extra time or effort to visit here, you can do it all the way long. There are several view points on the way.

This was probably my favourite part of our Kyushu and overall Japan Trip. Despite the rainy and windy weather, I loved the drive from Miyazaki down to Cape Toi along route 220 changing to route 448 at some point and continuing to Kagoshima via Sakurajima island. This was the kind of Japan experience I had been looking for off the beaten... There is a lot to do. Would have enjoyed the hikes at the Cape but not staying down there the drive time is long. They are cheaky at the Cape using incremental charging for the attractions from entry to the cape, charge for the visitor centre, charge for the light house. None of it cheap. The first time I had... The Nichinan Coast is a long strip of coastline centered on Nichinan City, starting south of Miyazaki City and continuing down to Cape Toi. While it in itself is an attraction, it also contains other attractions such as Aoshima and the Udo Shrine. To see it, you definitely need your own transportation. If you take a bus, you'll just see... More

The coastline is beautiful especially on sunny days. The hightlight is stopping by the place called the "Devil's Washboard". Cross the road from the parking lot and go straight to the staircase that leads you all the way down to the wave-shaped rocks known as the "Devil's Washboard" miles on both side of the seaside. Here you'd admire the power... More
