Aomori is a small town, thus the port is not crowded at all and you can have all the space and peace you need to enjoy the scene. Particularly love the nebuta decorations along the port and it looks MUCH nicer at night when they...More

I really enjoy seeing people in their natural elements. I don't really look for tourist spots but this place qualifies as both. It was a bit chilly and windy when I visited, but I still enjoyed the sites.

Most of the cruise ships touring around Japan will embark/disembark at the Port of Aomori because it is near to JR Station and the city of Aomori. The shuttle buses will take the cruisemates to ASPAM where they can get the necessary information for their...More

The port of Aomori is a welcoming port where our cruise ship feels the friendly reception form the locals. We didn't have a band to play for our arrival this time, but the people with their booths of local wares were nice. Once docked, we're...More

We arrived at Aomori by cruise. The ship's shuttle took us to the Aspam building, namely the Aomori Prefecture Sightseeing Products Mansion. This pyramid-shaped building must be a landmark of the city. A stroll from here to the Aomori rail station takes about 20 to...More

Aomori Port was calm and peaceful and if you have time, do walk along the seaside promenade from ASPAM to JR Aomori station and enjoy the pleasant environment along. The walk was easy and took about twenty minutes. Recommended.

Even though there was no ships in port when I was there this is a great location. They are extending the port to have larger ships berth there. The views from the pier are great and it is within walking distance to the town

Before they built the Seikan Tunnel to Hokkaido ships conveyed passengers and vehicles to the island. It is interesting just to walk around the port area and the facilities where they loaded the trains on to the ferry.
