As someone said in another post this Orthodox Cathedral is under renovation only on the exterior, you can enter through the side door. Yoi can take photos, but for respect don't take it during the service. Another tip is that married women who visit this...More
Don't be put off by all the scaffolding around the Cathedral (though that does mean that photos are useless); go inside to see the gold and icons etc etc. At 5pm each day they have a service and we happened to be there at 5.45...More
Lovely orthodox church situated in a (not so well maintained) park in the center of Almaty . I have seen more impressive orthodox churches in other places in the world - so 10 to 15 minutes should be more than enough to visit this one...More
Set in parkland this is an interesting church of wooden construction. There are some interesting icons within.
After a bit of confusion I got inside this beautiful gem of a church. There is a bit of restoration taking place which makes it look closed. Worth a visit to say a prayer ans light a candle.
