Decent attraction. Though long travel time for a short stay

From langkawi to the pier then the ferry ride takes around 3-4 hours one way. You get around 3 hours at the reef platform. So the time spent there may not be worth the transport... read more

Bus picked us up on time (8:30 AM) at hotel and left shortly for island (relatively speaking / tourist time) after arriving at pier. Nice boat ride on speed boat/ferry (45 minutes) and awesome fish sighting / snorkeling at island (platform)......we saw LOTS of different fish - including sharks (sand sharks, I believe). Very nice lunch and very friendly, courteous... More

Disclaimer: I would like to highlight that experience may vary from people to people, this is what i experienced. Pulau Payar is lovely. You get to swim with harmless sharks and you may get the chance to see barracuda. I love the snorkel. NOW TO THE FUN PART: We arrived at Langkawi, where my travel agent suggested that I spend... From langkawi to the pier then the ferry ride takes around 3-4 hours one way. You get around 3 hours at the reef platform. So the time spent there may not be worth the transport time. The reef platform was absolutely flooded with people. They had enough staff to cater for them. But I think too many people spoils the... More

We booked this trip via Beryaja resort. I would have expected that the Beryaja responsible would have warned us for this extremely disappointing trip. The bus drive and ferry took 3,5 hours, the bus stopped at multiple locations to pick up people. When arriving on the island it was overcrowded with snorkelling people destroying the few remaining corals. Toilets were... More

The trip starts with a nice boat ride that takes you to the island from Langkawi. Once there, you need to pay for storing your stuff, collect your goggles and you are ready to hit the water. The fishes are aplenty, even a couple of small sharks and you can laze around in the water as well. If you need... More

Worth going over for snorkeling . Book the platform , you will get more freedom . Book the beach side , you will need to bei n the middle of the ocean before water become clear . Beach side water are chalky underwater due to sand but considered clear when observing the fishes above water .

Yes, it's kind of over-rated because if you're looking for some fantastic magical experience with fishes, then pay the extra and go scuba. The snorkelling off beach is ok - visibility 30-40feet, lots of fishes, baby reef sharks about 40-50cm - but what spoils the experience for me was the crowds of people in the shallows. The snorkelling experience that... More

Paid RM180 for this tour that we booked via our hotel. Spend almost the whole day here snorkeling. There are many fish and you can even spot sharks. There are many corals so becareful where you stand or step. We used wet shoes so it wasn't that bad. You can feed the fish too. Breads are sold at RM5. You... More

- Absolutely beautiful with crystal clear waters. - Good water visibility. - Saw so many fishes, and a few baby sharks swimming around. - Some fishes bite, but nothing serious. - Corals are not exactly colored and vibrant, but fishes and sea creatures do still live in it. Just be careful not to step on it as it can be... More
