We were looking forward to our River safari but could not have imagined what a fabulous holiday it actually turned out to be! We were met at Sandakan airport by Yahya and he stayed with us throughout the 4 days we were in the jungle. We were lucky enough to have a private guide and driver on our boat all... More

I've just got back from an incredible 3day 2night cruise along the Kinabatangan River... the best experience I've had anywhere in the world without a doubt! Mr Aji picked us up from Sepilok and drove us to our accommodation in Sukau (basic room with ensuite and hot shower - very nice for Jungle Accommodation!), our food was included for the... More

My wife and I had an amazing time on the Kinabatangan River, made all the better by our guide Mr Aji. Mr Aji has a fantastic knowledge of all the animals in and around the river and he is more than happy to answer all and any questions you have. We saw 6 types of monkeys during our 3D/2N tour... My husband and I went on the 3D/ 2N river tour with Mr Aji. Everything was perfect from the pick up to the drop off at the end of the 3 days. It was such a breathtaking experience being in the middle of the river, and Mr Aji's extensive knowledge and experience was amazing. He was able to spot wildlife... More

2 parts to my review ... a. Mr Aji's Expedition Glad I found out about Mr Aji in TripAdvisor and I highly recommend taking a 3D2N (even more days!) trip with him. He's passionate about conservation in the Kinabatangan area and he really knows his fauna! Same goes to his friend who took us on the short trek to the... More

We went on a one day tour to the river for a twilight cruise and had a rewarding day...while we missed out on seeing the much prized Pygmy Elephant and crocodiles we saw evident of them. But we did get up close and personal with Long Tail Macaques and Proboscis Monkeys...this is nature in the wild and one has not... More

Our experience exploring the Kinabatangan river during NYE2016 was amazing. We spotted a couple of crocodiles sunbathing in the river banks, hundreds of Proboscis monkeys (which only live in the Borneo island), hornbills, eagles, 40+ elephants eating by the river, and much more. Take a long lens and a GoPro if you can, and pack for wild weather (rain, sun,... More

There are many opportunities to spot animals in their natural habitats. We saw Probus Monkeys, lots of different animals, unfortunately we didn't spot the Orang Utan but other people we spoke to did. It's all down to luck. The river ride itself is pleasant.

cruising along river wonderful! You will see different monkeys and birds to inc eagles,hornbills,kingfishers...and see them close. No sign of orangs but they are around. Sadly their habitat is fragmented by palm oil plantations-before we arrived to pick up boat we spent a whol;e day driving past them.Charities such as World Land Trust are trying to buy land to connect... After a pickup from Sepilok Mr Aji brought us to the Sukua village along the Kinabatangan river where our 3D2N adventure started. Mr Aji definitely made up our expectations. He is friendly, helpful and more important: very knowledgeable about jungle life and competent in spotting wild life and insects. And there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions, since we...
