I recently embarked on Low's Peak Circuit via Ferrata, that was very exciting and thrill seeking experience. It treated me to an array of breathtaking sights leaving me in awe of nature's grandeur.

Special thanks to my Ferrata Trainer, William for his expertise and guidance. Not only did he ensure our safety throughout but he took multiple stunning photographs that was later shared to us.

I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to embark on this unforgettable adventure.

The activity was amazing. We get to enjoy and appreciate parts of Mt. Kinabalu that was only accessible to via Ferrata goers. Our instructor Adrian was very helpful and sporting too!

It is recommended for those who haven’t experienced going to Mt. Kinabalu to opt for 3D2N package. This is because you’ll be in rush to meet the cutoff times, especially on the summit if you’re taking the 2D1N option where you would not have much time to enjoy sunrise on the summit.

However, Mountain Torq/ Pendant Hut operator need to improve on the supper provision. We were only given stale white bread with jams and butter before going for strenuous activities (imagine summit attack at 2AM, via Ferrata at 6.30AM, only to get a proper brunch at 11AM and you’re gonna have to descend to Timpohon Gate at 1.30PM at most).

Perhaps Mountain Torq can provide packed breakfast with a bit heavy meals prior or in between via Ferrata activities which will provide energy to the customers and avoid any problems such as gastritis, cramping, or dizziness which will affect the via Ferrata activities and experience.

I really think this part should be really looked into in future.

Last but not least, thanks to Adrian, Pendant Hut team and Mountain Torq team for the hospitality. Looking forward to do this again in future.

Mountain Torq and Sabah Parks have done an extraordinary trip at the same level as European mountain huts/trips/via ferrata. The trail is haaaard do not under estimate it. Each section is fine however it is the accumulation of 2400m of steep ascent and immediately followed by the steep descent. The Pendant hut (for via ferrata) is comfortable and a welcome stop. The buffet dinner was great and plenty of food to carbo load. The staff were really friendly and hospitable. The via ferrata guide was excellent. Everything is set up to high standards to help you summit.

Second via ferrata I've done (Sacred Valley Peru was the other). Incredible time. My guide, Adrian, was exceptional at simultaneously playing the role of instructor, trail guide and photographer. Great conversations too. Not too tough if you're at least in average shape or better. For those nervous and on the fence, I never felt in danger throughout the walk. Great equipment and guides that take things seriously.

Max, my 14-year-old son, conquered the heights of Mt. Kinabalu and breezed through the exhilarating challenge of Walk the Torq! This adventure was undeniably the highlight of his young life – a colossal feat that left us bursting with pride. This was all made possible due to the Mountain Torq team.

Max went on this adventure without us, his parents. With their impeccable judgment, the Mountain Torq team assigned the perfect trainer to accompany Max, who understood how such a young dynamo works. Upon reaching the cozy Mountain Torq Pendant Hut, Max encountered a bout of altitude sickness. However, the Mountain Torq team have demonstrated their experience and expertise in dealing with such situations. They knew exactly how to provide the appropriate TLC that Max needed and always updated us about Max's condition. In just one hour of attentive care, the altitude hurdle was conquered.

Now listen to Max: "Despite my lack of sleep, after successfully summiting, I was able to also successfully complete Walk the Torq because my trainer was very patient and understanding with me when I had to go slower at some sections. Additionally, he gave me useful tips on how to scale the mountain more easily and carefully demonstrated how to tackle the various obstacles most effectively before I tried to do them myself. His tips and techniques gave me more confidence to fluidity while scaling the mountain. I liked all challenges I was given, but the highlight came towards the end. It is the part with the ladders, which is almost vertical. The Mountain Torq staff themselves were also very friendly and were happy to answer any questions I had. Throughout the entire journey, my parents were kept in the loop about my progression and condition, receiving constant updates that reassured them in excellent hands."

The flawless support and seamless communication from the Mountain Torq team were instrumental, not only for Max but also for us as parents. It was a tremendous relief to know that Max was not just on an adventure; he was in the care of a team that prioritised his well-being. Kudos to Mountain Torq for making Max's adventure not only unforgettable but also a testament to their outstanding commitment to their climbers!

One aspect that warrants consideration for improvement is the policy requiring climbers to make full payments even in the event of cancellations due to adverse weather conditions. While I understand the unpredictability of nature, it would be more equitable if the team shared the weather risk with the participants. One suggestion for enhanced customer satisfaction could be to consider options for compensation, such as providing a discount coupon for a future adventure.

Considering the unpredictable nature of mountainous terrain, a more flexible approach in the face of adverse weather would not only be appreciated by climbers but also strengthen the overall super-positive experience with Mountain Torq.

It was a great experience although it was a very hard activity after climbing up from the park entrance to the summit.

This was a superb way too finish off a great morning hiking the summit of Mt Kinabalu , this was my first time doing this type of activity, I skydive , hike and many other activities but this was a different perspective and well worth the time and money, my guide was informative about safety and go with the flow ! So glad I did while I had the opportunity where else can you do on such an impressive mountain.

The ferrata as a very good experience for me and my friends ,we are enjoying it a lot …just that we have 2 group of friends and with two different trainer… my other 2 friends have 100+ activities pictures and me with my other friend have 20 ….. pictures for both of us … kind of disappointed by the huge difference…
And they received their 100 pictures though tele after the hike and we wait for our 20 pictures 8-10 days , though emails …so … may consider on those parts if you want a very memorable trip…
