Nice piece of preserved nature, nice exhibit, shame for the garbage in the mangrove

The wetlands centre was nice. I went on a Sunday during Chinese New Year, so it was very quiet. The boardwalks over the wetlands are very noisy, but if you stay still for a while you can see a lot of animals. The observation tower was great because you can see the tops of the forest and see some buildings... More

It is good to see that some nature has been preserved, and if you like nature you may want to visit this small mangrove. The exhibit about the fauna and flora, and the impact of human activity on environment is suitable for educating kids (and adults too). We saw many herons and mud skippers. Unfortunately, there is a non negligible... More

On our last day we visited this quiet place, hoping to see more birds and mangrove wetlands creatures. Disappointed with the conditions (lots of deferred maintenance) and relative lack of education and wildlife.

If they really care about the environment, they would have cleared the place of rubbish. There is rubbish everywhere. We were very dissapointed to have paid 15rmb to see this sad place (nice touch: only 3rmb for Malaysian!). Don't expect to see much wildlife, only some crabs and the white birds. Better to avoid this place.

A very helpful taxi driver took us there mid morning and came back for us 2 and a half hours later. This gave us sufficient time as unfortunately it was too hot and late in the day to see much birdlife. We were very lucky to see a kingfisher and many eigrets. The whole area is well laid out with... Might be good for those who are interested to know more about mangroves, or if you enjoy nature-filled walks. Though we were given cards with different birds to identify throughout our walk, we didn't see many. Also quite sad to see that there were a few plastic bottles thrown about, despite signs throughout reminding people to "save Mother Earth". It's... More

A calm and quiet place . Ideal for bird watching. Try to visit in the morning or evening for more spottings. Was at a walkable distance frm our hotel (2kms) and it made a pleasant evening stroll.

About 10 minutes from the city center. Unfortunately, it is close on Monday. We proceed to the nearby lookout point at Signal Hill.

There is not much there a walkway and some pools of water and a bit of jungle in the suburbs. you are better off heading towards the countryside and visiting the bush there. I could be made into something but sadly needs someone to stand up and make decisions. Not worth much time at all.

My family and I went visiting the so called Wetlands,an awesome stretch of virgin land just in the suburbs of KK City. There is a wide variety of birds to watch, and enjoy the pure scenic tranquility of Wetlands,a one and only in Sabah, and of course Kota Kinabalu. Not to be missed if you are in Kota Kinabalu, and fancy all the variety of...
