OK so we love birds, you have to in order to get the most out of this place. Don’t go if you’re not prepared to sit and wait because it’s nature, not a tv show We spent a couple of hours here and watched kingfishers...More
This was one attraction that we visited twice during out stay in KK. You have to be patient to enjoy it though; the birds are free to come and go as they please, so you have to wait for them to show up. Binoculars are...More
I really wanted to enjoy the wetland centre, and I truly admire their ethos, trying to improve education on environmental matters and preserve the mangrove swamp. That being said, the place had a very rundown feel to it, and the piles of rubbish (plastic bottles,...More
We thought it would be nice, but’s it’s the complete opposite, board walk is very very old and rotten. Part of the path is just mud and very slippery. Next to no wildlife
We took an uber to the wetlands centre which was around 4RM one way. The entrance fee is 15RM. We had a great couple of hours. We saw mudskippers, crabs, and several types of birds. There were a few bottles as people have mentioned, but...More
Quite dirty with a lot of rubbish around. Not really worth it to be honest. We went to the kinabatangan region after (river and wetlands) and it was much much better. We didn't see a lot of birds at the KK wetlands as desribed but...More

This is probably not the biggest wetland centre, bit its nice! If you go slow you see the most. Almost no musquitos. Taxi from downtown to here will cost 15rm.
We went on a walk through the mangroves on a Friday. It was very peaceful because we were the only people on the walkway. We saw several bird species including egrets, herons, and swallows plus one kingfisher and one kite. We also saw mudskippers, crabs,...More
